Motorola Moto E13 Design and Build
The Moto E13 looks very simple and basic at the first glance, similar to what you would expect from a budget phone. The phone is available in three colour options – white, black and green. I have the latter with me for the review and it really looks good.
It features a plastic back with a matte finish which feels good in the hands. The frame is also made with plastic but the in-hand feel of the phone does not feel cheap at all. There’s almost no camera bump on the back and a subtle Motorola logo in the middle.

The phone has thick bezels, especially at the bottom and a water drop notch which justifies the price tag. All in all, the phone looks and feels more expensive than its price which is always good to have.
The right side features the power button along with volume rockers and the left has a SIM tray slot. The top side has a 3.5mm audio jack while the bottom has a type-C port, loudspeaker and mic. Motorola has given IP52 rating to protect it from dust and water to some extent.
Motorola Moto E13 Camera
The Motorola Moto E13 sports a single 13MP camera on the back side while the front has a 5MP camera for taking selfies. There are no unnecessary 2MP sensors as you find on other phones. Before talking about the camera quality, keep in mind that it’s an entry level phone.
The 13MP main camera takes pretty decent shots in proper lighting conditions. The details were fine and the images were on the softer side. The colours looked a bit faded. You also get a night mode but the images came out very noisy.
The portrait mode was good. The edge detection was average and the background blur did not seem very natural.

Coming over to the front, the 5MP takes good selfies in outdoor lighting. However, the selfies taken indoors were sub-par. The details were missing and the selfies came out soft. Colours were also flushed out. It took decent portrait selfies under sunlight.
The phone can record 1080p videos at 30fps from its back and front camera. The video quality was fine however the footage was shaky.
Motorola Moto E13 Battery and Charging
The Moto E13 packs a beefy 5000mAh battery inside which is paired with a 10W charger. The phone delivers a two day battery life on causal use. I don’t think you can do anything heavy with it to deplete it faster.
However, in case you still play games on it all day, you will still get at least one full day of battery backup which is pretty good. You can charge it with the 10W charger which is given in the box. I am happy to see that it comes with a type-C charging port.

Well yes, it takes more than two hours to fully charge the phone using the given adaptor. But you should keep in mind that you get a solid battery life after that.
Motorola Moto E13 Display
Motorola Moto E13 features an HD+ 6.5 inches IPS LCD display which has a standard refresh rate of 60Hz. I did not face any problems while using the phone indoors however it was a struggle to see the contents on the display under direct sunlight.
The 720p display offers average display quality. The contents on the screen do not look very sharp or crisp. Although the colours looked good, the viewing angles were not up to par.

Watching videos on YouTube or playing games offered a decent experience. Combined with the Dolby Atmos certified bottom-firing speaker, the multimedia experience was pretty good.
The water drop notch and super thick bezel on the bottom looked very dated. On the other hand, I did not expect much from a phone for this price. All in all, you won’t have many complaints in the display department.
Motorola Moto E13 Performance
The Motorola Moto E13 is powered by the Unisoc T606 chipset which is paired with up to 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. You can easily use the phone for everyday usage. I did not experience any lag while using the phone for basic tasks like making a call, texting on WhatsApp and taking photos.
However, there were no noticeable lags and shutters while using intensive apps like Instagram and Snapchat. As it’s a budget level phone, it was very common and expected to get this performance.
Do not expect it to run heavy games like CoD or BGMI smoothly. You can play light games on it like Subway Surfers and Candy Crush without any problem. However, in case you are very brave to run BGMI on it, you can play the game on the lowest settings but you will still get lags and frame drops.

The phone runs on Android Go Edition which is based on the latest Android 13 version. I am really impressed to see a budget phone offering the Android 13 version while some other mid-range phones still launch with the old Android 12.
There is not much bloatware on the phone as it’s running on stock android and you can also uninstall third-party apps. The UI is very user-friendly and simple. It’s easy to navigate and you get features like Material UI, gestures and much more.
Motorola Moto E13 turns out to be a great budget 4G phone under 7K. You get a good performing phone with a decent display for everyday use. It easily lasts two days which is superb for a phone costing just 7K.
On top of that, you get the latest Android 13 version and a ton of features that come along with it. That said, it has some drawbacks as well. Like the HD resolution display and no 5G support are the biggest cons. Slow charging speed and a poor selfie camera are pretty much expected at this price point.
Overall, the Motorola Moto E13 is a solid budget-friendly phone for anyone who has a very limited budget and doesn’t care about 5G.
