Panasonic P95

Panasonic P95 comes with a surprising price that will make you interested in the phone. Priced at ₹ 4,499, the Panasonic P95 may not be the most beautiful set, but it does what it promises – keeping you pleased with its essential functions.

The phone has a decent design and HDR-enabled cameras to handle photography. While its chief attraction is the Snapdragon processor, it has been paired with a low RAM, making it a poor performer. However, it can handle the essential tasks of the phone well, and so, can be a capable second phone for emergency use.

The Panasonic P95 looks like any other budget phone. The front of the phone appears a bit boxy since the screen does not curve down like premium phones. However, on the back, the rear panel curves making it comfortable to hold.

The rear panel has a smooth finish which does not attract fingerprint smudges. It comes with color variants of Blue, Gold, and Dark Grey. It comes with a removable back panel so that you can put in the removable battery. Nothing is striking about the design. It looks quite average. On the right side, you get the volume rocker and the power button.

On the top, you get the 3.5mm headphone jack. At the bottom of the back panel, you can find two speaker grilles, which intensifies the volume of the phone. It has a low 16GB internal storage, which is quite disappointing.

Panasonic P95 arrives with a 5-inch screen IPS LCD with a 720p resolution which is fantastic for a phone at this price range. It also holds a decent 294 ppi in its display. The display holds sufficient details though the color might appear a bit washed out. It is quite bright indoors even without cranking up the brightness to 100%.

Outdoors, the phone will be capable of holding its own without dropping much of its legibility. The display is one of the selling points of this phone. Plus, it comes with a screen protector that keeps the scratches away.

The 200 series is a very dated model, but the Snapdragon is capable of running the apps properly and giving you necessary feedback. However, the RAM is very less considering today’s standard. Multitasking gets sluggish in this phone and can freeze the phone, so it is not recommended.

Casual gaming can be excellent but loading times are high, and it can be sluggish experience. Performance experience on this phone is mixed.

Regarding cameras, the Panasonic P95 has an 8MP rear camera. It comes with features like High dynamic range (HDR) which is not expected from a phone at this price range. The camera is capable of shooting average phones in daylight.

The HDR kicks in and can make the photos look decent, but you will see a drop in quality from photos taken with mid-range phones. Plus, the Panasonic P95 does not perform well in low-light conditions. Thankfully, it comes with an LED flash on its rear which makes its images come out discernible.

The Panasonic P95 comes with a 5MP camera on its front. The selfie camera is also paired with an LED flash. This phone makes the shots come out well with little noise, even when clicked in low-light situations. However, the shots are not well-defined and are not even eligible for social media uploads.

For a low-budget phone, the Panasonic P95 arrives with a 2300 mAh battery. It is quite a small battery, especially since it is powering up a 720p display. Plus, the Snapdragon 210 is not the most efficient processor of the Snapdragon series.

So, even with light use, you may not be able to make the phone last for a day. The phone comes with micro-USB port and does not support fast charging. Hence, you have to wait for about 2 hours to get it to full charge.

The Panasonic P95 comes with an attractive price, and it delivers accordingly. It does not, however, have anything striking that will immediately make you pick it up. While it does set itself apart with the Snapdragon processor, the poor RAM does not utilize the processor to its full efficiency.

The cameras of this set are quite decent, providing an HDR capability. If you are tight on the budget and require a second phone for emergencies, then this phone will serve you well. However, you should not keep your hopes high with the performance or battery when using this phone.
