Samsung Galaxy S25 Design And Build

Samsung Galaxy S25’s design remains largely unchanged, with some minor updates. For starters, the traffic light camera module on the back has black accents to differentiate it from its predecessor.

    Samsung Galaxy S25 Design

The phone has rounded corners and slim bezels with a centre punch cutout on the front. Furthermore, it has a flat display, and the compact design makes it easy to hold in the hand. I have the Icy Blue variant of the Samsung Galaxy S25 for review.

The phone’s back has a triple camera setup with black accents, similar to the Z Fold 6. It also has an LED flash and Samsung branding at the bottom.

Samsung’s approach seems to be, “Why fix if it ain’t broke?” making iterative updates to the design. The phone has an IP68 rating, apart from the Armor Aluminium 2 frame for protection.

    Samsung Galaxy S25 Camera

The Samsung Galaxy S25 sports the same triple camera setup as last year. It has a 50-megapixel primary camera, a 10-megapixel telephoto with 3x zoom, and a 12-megapixel ultrawide-angle sensor. On the front, there is a 12-megapixel selfie camera.

    Camera

During the day, the phone can take great photos with plenty of light and saturation. The 3x telephoto camera also has the same colour tuning as the primary. I enjoyed taking a lot of photos during my review of the Samsung Galaxy S25. However, the 12-megapixel ultrawide is decent at best, leaving much to be desired.

At night, the S25 shines thanks to improved software optimization and a dedicated night mode. Furthermore, the phone has a great dynamic range and exposure. Similarly, the 12-megapixel selfie shooter has great accuracy, with plenty of details and accurate skin tones.

Samsung Galaxy S25 Battery And Charging

Samsung Galaxy S25 packs a decent 4,000mAh battery. While other manufacturers are adopting technologies like Silicon Carbon to pack an even bigger battery inside their phones, Samsung seems reluctant to move on.

If you are a casual user, the phone can last a day. I got around a day of battery life during my Samsung Galaxy S25 review.

However, heavy multitaskers will need to charge it twice. You get the same 25W wired and 15W wireless charging support as last year. There is also no magnetic wireless charging support like Apple, which is disappointing.

    Samsung Galaxy S25 Display

Samsung Galaxy S25 sports a 6.2-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2x panel on the front. This is the same screen found in the S24 with a 120HJz refresh rate and LTPO support.

    Samsung Galaxy S25 Display

Furthermore, the phone has the same peak brightness of 2600 nits and Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 for protection. The phone’s compact design makes it easy to hold in one hand.

The phone is visible even under bright sunlight thanks to its 2600 nits of peak brightness. I enjoyed watching its content during my review of the Samsung Galaxy S25, although there is no Dolby Vision support. The 120Hz refresh rate and LTPO support make the scrolling experience smooth and fluid.

    Samsung Galaxy S25 Performance

The new Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy powers the Samsung Galaxy S25. This is a huge upgrade over the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3/ Exynos 2400 in the S24. It is based on a 3nm process and uses Qualcomm’s new custom Oryon cores.

The “For Galaxy” branding denotes that Samsung is using an overclocked version of Qualcomm’s flagship chipset. It is clocked at a higher 4.47GHz compared to 4.4GHz on the normal variant.

    Performance And Gaming

This is evident in benchmarks, where the phone scores 3220 in single-core and 10223 in the multi-core Geekbench test. The Adreno 850 GPU inside the Samsung Galaxy S25 is also clocked at a higher clock speed, 1.2GHz, which should result in a smoother gameplay experience.

Since it runs the latest chipset, you can easily run games like BGMI and COD at a fluid 120 FPS. The Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy even beats the Apple A18 Pro in the iPhone 16 Pro Max.I did not feel any lack of processing power during my Samsung Galaxy S25 review.

Samsung Galaxy S25 Software and UI

The Samsung Galaxy S25 runs on the latest Android 15, based on OneUI 7. Samsung has promised seven years of OS updates, so you can expect updates until Android 22.

    Samsung Galaxy S25 AI Features

The company is betting on its AI features this year, as the phone eventually learns everything about you. It collects data from your emails, messages, and sleeping habits, including your Galaxy Ring and Watch data, to deliver personalized results.

2025 might be the year when personalized AI will become a thing, and smartphones will understand everything you need. While it might not be as advanced as Scarlett Johansson in “Her”, somewhere in the near future, Bixby or GalaxyAI might be the only assistant you need.

You can also summon Google Gemini by holding the power button. It now works with multiple apps, including Samsung’s own apps, such as Samsung Notes. There is also an Audio Eraser that can remove background noises from a video.

Cool features like NowBrief show info from different apps in an easy-to-access widget and a useful yet nimble NowBar that stays at the bottom of the lock screen. OneUI 7 brings plenty of changes, including redesigned quick settings, smoother animations, and a minimalist user interface. I enjoyed the software experience during my Samsung Galaxy S25 review.

    Verdict

Samsung Galaxy S25 is the perfect compact phone for power users. With the latest Snapdragon 8 Elite and personalized AI features, it is a “smartphone” in a true sense. However the lack of any major upgrades such as a bigger battery, faster charging or a new design. Despite these iterative upgrades, the S25 remains one of the best compact phones out there thanks to the improvement in software and Samsung’s commitment to long term support.
