Realme 14 Pro Plus Long-Term Review: The New Mid-Range Master?

The Realme 14 Pro Plus‘s price is 29,999 rupees for 8GB RAM and 128GB storage. It also has 8GB RAM and 256GB variants, which cost 31,999 rupees in India. The top-end model with 12GB RAM and 256GB storage is priced at 34,999 rupees in India.

This phone is available in four colours: Pearl White, Suede Grey and two other India-exclusive colours, Bikaner Purple and Jaipur Pink. You can buy it from Amazon, Flipkart, and Croma stores.

Before we talk in detail about the Realme 14 Pro Plus, let’s see what the on-paper specs look like:

The back design of the Realme 14 Pro Plus is interesting because it can change colour based on temperature. Realme says it is the first smartphone in the world to have this cool feature. This technology was developed with the help of a design studio called Valeur Designers in the Nordic region.

When the temperature drops below 16 degrees Celsius, the phone’s back cover changes from Pearl White to Vibrant Blue. When the temperature rises, it returns to Pearl White. This phone has a body dimension of 163.5 x 77.3 x 8 mm or 8.3 mm.

Realme really worked to keep the weight light because it only weighs 194 grams or 196 grams. Compared to others, which have a 6,000mAh battery, they weigh around 206 grams. Its overall design is very impressive, and the in-hand feeling is very pleasing because of the quad-curved display. Personally, I don’t like the rounded design of the camera on the back, but as compared to its previous model, its camera bump is minimal.

Users can insert two nano-sized SIMs at the same time, but there is no SD card slot. The phone’s bottom also has a speaker strip and a Type-C slot. There is nothing on the left side of the phone, and its right side has a power button and volume button. A microphone and secondary sound are presented on top of the phone.

Realme 14 Pro Plus has an IP68/IP69 dust-tight and water-resistant design, so it can resist high-pressure water jets and be immersed up to 1.5 meters for 48 minutes. Moreover, this phone is MIL-STD-810H compliant for body protection, but it does not guarantee ruggedness or use in extreme conditions.

The Realme 14 Pro Plus’s camera is one of its essential parts. After using it, I called it a mid-range master. This phone has a 50MP wide, 50MP periscope telephoto and 8MP depth rear camera that delivers excellent image results.

I clicked a lot of images in normal settings. You can see my skin tone is perfectly defined, and the results are much better compared to Realme P3 Ultra.

I also clicked several images in portrait mode; you can see that the edges are perfectly defined. I thought there was some saturation in portrait mode while clicking flowers.

Realme 14 Pro Plus also has 120x zoom capability, which delivers quite decent results after AI enhancement. This phone also performs well in night photography. I clicked some pictures, and the results were quite decent.

The phone has a 32MP front camera, which also delivers excellent selfies. You can see my selfie in normal and portrait mode. Both are perfect, and there is no saturation in the image result.

In terms of videography, you can record 4K videos at 30fps with the rear camera and front camera. I recorded several videos, and their sound quality was good. I can’t add here, but if you want a video sample, then comment, I will add a Google Drive link here also.

Realme 14 Pro Plus offers a 6,000mAh battery capacity, giving long-lasting battery life on a single charge. I used it multiple days; you get one and a half days of battery life on a single charge. However, if you play a lot of games, then it might be dropped for seven to eight hours.

Moreover, it comes with an 80W fast charger in the box. So, it takes almost one hour to charge fully. Overall, the Realme 14 Pro Plus battery review is quite excellent.

Realme 14 Pro Plus has a 6.83-inch OLED display, which is excellent in this price segment. Moreover, it has a 120Hz refresh rate, helping with fast display scrolling. The user can also set the refresh rate to adaptive, which will speed up and slow down according to need.

This phone also has a brightness of 1200 nits (HBM), 1500 nits (peak). I used it in harsh sunlight, which was perfectly visible. Continuous phone use can cause eye burning, aches, throbbing, or grittiness.

To avoid this, this phone comes with an AI eye comfort feature, which you can activate or schedule. There is also a bedtime feature, which is similar to it.

There is also an interesting feature here called screen attention. Basically, it keeps you on when you are looking at it and automatically turns off if your attention diverts from the screen. This feature also helps those who fall asleep while watching movies.

I watched several YouTube videos on the Realme 14 Pro Plus, and its colours are amazing. So, there is no significant doubt about the screen’s ability. This phone has a 90.9 per cent screen-to-body ratio, a resolution of 1080 x 2392 pixels and 388 ppi density. Overall, the Realme 14 Pro Plus display review is amazing.

Realme 14 Pro Plus comes with a Qualcomm SM7635 Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 (4 nm) chip, which is quite efficient for multimedia use. This phone comes with several similar options, like 128GB storage with 8GB RAM, 256GB storage with 8GB RAM, and 256GB storage with 12GB RAM, which I’m using for review. I also liked its UFS 3.1 type storage, while the Nothing Phone 3a still has UFS 2.2 at the same price.

I did several Benchmark tests on the Realme 14 Pro Plus to check its accurate performance in different aspects. Its Geekbench CPU scores are 1144 in single-core and 3262 in multi-core. The maximum in the CPU throttling test is 85 per cent. Moreover, its Antutu score is 811121. The 3D Mark Wildlife Extreme Stress Test for stability has an overall score of 98.6 per cent.

Let’s move to gaming performance; you can play BGMI with medium to low graphics settings and get medium to high frame rates. This gives you a good gaming experience. If you ask more from your device, it may have trouble keeping up. I play a lot of games, and one of the best things is that my phone hardly heats up after a long session. Realme 14 Pro Plus has Android 15, based on Realme UI 6.0. However, it also promises two-year major updates, which I think are quite low; they can be given at least three years.

This phone has many bloatware apps, such as Clone Phone, ORoaming, Zen Space, Reel Short, Block Blast, etc., which can ruin your user experience. You can uninstall or disable them, but otherwise, they can slow down your phone day by day.

It has many smart features that use artificial intelligence. These include a function to protect your eyes, a better camera with smart technology, and helpful tools for editing pictures in the gallery, like an AI eraser that can remove unwanted parts of images.
