Oppo Enco X Specs at A Glance

Before diving deeper into the Oppo Enco X review, let’s have a look at the specs:

  • Connectivity: Bluetooth V5.2
  • Supported OS: Android, iOS
  • Battery: Up to 25 hours of playback time
  • Weight: 52 grams

Oppo Enco X Design And Comfort

I will start my Oppo Enco X review with the design part. The Oppo Enco X comes in an egg-shaped case which is quite handy. The charging case weighs just 42.5 grams and can easily slide into your jeans pocket. The case has a glossy finish, and it acts as a fingerprint magnet often. However, holding it in hand certainly gives a premium feel.

On the front of the case, you get a solo LED light which shows the status of the battery. When the case is fully charged, the light turns green; when the case is charging, the light is orange; and in case of a low battery, the light turns red.. Now, on the bottom, there is a Type-C charging port. Likewise, to the right of the case, you get a button to reset the earbuds, or it can be used to enter the pairing mode.

The case also has a metallic ring running around, and there is also Dynaudio branding on the back of the case. Coming to the buds, they are placed inside the case and are again quite light in weight and hence give a comfortable fit in the ears. The slots of the buds have a glossy finish, while the surrounding area has a matte finish. There is no LED indicator inside the case.

The case can be easily opened with one hand. Although the buds have a comfortable fit, they might come out when running or walking fast. So, you must keep this point in mind.

The Oppo Enco X earbuds are IP54 dust and water-resistant, allowing you to wear them during a workout or in the rain.

Oppo Enco X Audio Quality

The Oppo Enco X come with three microphones in each bud for noise cancellation in voice calls – a Feedback microphone, a Feed-forward microphone, and an Internal mic.

The Enco X performed well in my voice call tests as the person on the other end of the call was able to hear me clearly, and vice versa. Even on Google Meet calls, the voice of the person on the other end came through crisply.

I tested the earbuds against different sounds and for different apps like YouTube, Netflix, Gaana and more. The earbuds were able to pick up the tracks quite in detail, giving me faint details in the background. The earphones also have a wide soundstage and handle multiple instruments at the same time very well.

However, at some point, the sound felt a bit harsher, and the audio was slightly less detailed and immersive, but the earphones still delivered a pretty good audio experience.

But while playing games, I definitely got audio delays, and hence I won’t recommend these buds to gamers.

Oppo Enco X Battery Life And Charging

The Oppo Enco X comes with a 44 mAh battery in each bud, while the charging case has a 535 mAh cell inside. Oppo claims to be offering four hours of playback time on a single charge at 50% volume and Max Noise Cancellation mode, and with the noise cancellation turned off; you get 5.5 hours of endurance.

While with the charging case paired, you can get a total of 20 hours of playback time with Max Noise Cancellation enabled and 25 hours without it.

In practical usage, I got almost 22 hours of playback time with noise cancellation on a single charge which, in my opinion, is okay. One thing I would like to mention here is that, like other buds in the market, one bud here also drains faster than the other, but that’s not much problem.

Having said that, you can easily charge the case through a Type-C port. Oppo says it takes 110 minutes to charge the case fully, but I was able to get a full charge in just 90 minutes. The TWS earbud also supports Qi wireless charging.

Oppo Enco X Features and Connectivity

The Oppo Enco X earbud comes equipped with Bluetooth version 5.2, which is highly stable and secure in terms of connectivity. Pairing the earbud is easy as well. You can pair the buds for the first time using the pairing button given in the case. And later, you just need to turn on the Bluetooth of your device and tap on the bud’s name in the available device section to connect.

Oppo Enco X features

The Oppo Enco X feature touch controls, which include double-tap, triple-tap, up-and-down sliding, touch-and-hold, and long touch-and-hold gestures for both the left and right earbuds.

The double-tap for both the left and right buds has four choices – None, Play/Pause, Previous, and Next. The triple-tap gesture, on the other hand, has two options – None and Google Assistant – meaning you can only use it for Google Assistant.

You can also download the companion app, Hey Melody, to utilize other features and settings of the earbuds. But this app is Android-exclusive, so iOS users have no way to customize touch controls, which could be a deal-breaker for many.

Verdict

And that’s all from my end in the Oppo Enco X review. The Oppo Enco X are an amazing pair of TWS earbuds with a lot of potential and features. The lightweight and comfortable design make the buds comfortable to wear for even long hours. Also, the addition of wireless charging is a major plus point at this price.

The Oppo Enco X also have a decent call quality and effective ANC. All in all, this is certainly the best deal you can go for.
