The Vivo V7 has a 5.7-Inch HD+IPS Display screen with a  2.5D Corning Gorilla Glass protection and an HD+ resolution of (1440 x 720p). However, it is the 18:9 display ratio that stands out in the narrow bezel design in the eyes of the users – since there are many other phones currently that has a Full HD screen resolution. It also comes with a 1.8GHz Octa Core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor at 4GB RAM and internal memory of 32G which can be expanded up to 256GB — packed with the perfect 24MP selfie camera with f/2.0 aperture and the 16MP rear camera with f/2.0 aperture – the camera set yields some of the best looking photos in the price range.

Apart from all that, the Vivo V7 also comes with a 3,000mAh battery that can last up to a day and support various connectivity features like 4G VoLTE, WiFi, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS, 3.5mm Audio Jack, micro USB 2.0, Fingerprint Sensor, etc. That being said, this phone feels hugely overpriced as there have been some of the recent additions of smartphones like the Xiaomi Note 7s which offers 48MP camera below 20,000/-.

The V7 Plus is designed similar to the V7 Plus and has a plastic back which has a metal finish, 18:9 display, pre-applied scratch guard, volume controls, etc. Having the dimension of 149.3 x 72.8 x 7.9mm and weighing just 139Grams, this phone feels pretty light on the hands and comes in Energetic Blue, Infinite Red, Champagne Gold, Matte Black colour options. The small fingerprint sensor at the rear, the narrow bezels in the front and the rounded edges made it so popular amongst the users.

Featuring a 5.7inch bezel-less display with 5.7-Inch HD+IPS Display, Gorilla Glass 3, 2.5D curved screen and resolution of 1440 x 720p, instead of Full HD display. However, the screen looks super bright with renders an enhanced quality of viewing experience. The high aspect ratio of 18:9 the phone is what stands out, but since there are a lot of phones right now that comes with a dewdrop notch at a much lesser price – this may make the Vivo V7 fall short in comparison to the other phones.

When it comes to the performance, the Vivo V7 comes with the Qualcomm’s 14nm based 1.8GHz octa-core Snapdragon 450 working at 4GB RAM, while the Redmi Note 5 comes with the Snapdragon 625 a much powerful processor at a much lesser price. The V7 doesn’t feel snappy as you multitask with its Adreno 506 GPU and Android 7.1 (Nougat) interface – which can be a bummer at this price range.

The Vivo V7 comes with a 24MP selfie camera with features like Continuous Shooting, Exposure compensation, Face detection, Geo tagging, High Dynamic Range mode (HDR), ISO control, Self-timer, Time Lapse, Touch to focus, White balance presets. The 16MP rear camera has an Autofocus, Flash, LED Flash, Phase Detection Autofocus (PDAF) that also sports a Full HD Video Recording (1080p). Yielding some of the high-quality photos and video recording in good lighting, but the camera can struggle with low lights in contrast and colours. The blacks may come out as greys for the noise that cannot be dealt with this phone, which is yet another dealbreaker.

The octa-core Snapdragon processor isn’t a power eater, and that’s why the 3225mAh non-removable Li-ion battery lasts easily for a day even after hefty usage. For light users, it can last up to a few hours more than a day.

Even though the Vivo V7 isn’t a significant update to its predecessor V7+ but still can go beyond the phone that produces much clearer selfie but isn’t pushing any more limits to perform better. That’s precisely why the other smartphones priced at much lower levels find themselves placed higher than this smartphone. In the end, if you’ve been a Vivo follower or only like a good-looking smartphone with a good camera, then this smartphone can be a good buy.
