About the Mobile Phone

Samsung Galaxy S10 Lite has a pretty elegant light-weight design and looks like a high-end device but falls short when it comes to the plastic rear panel, hence, absence of the wireless charging feature.

Pros:

  • Super AMOLED Display
  • In-Display fingerprint scanner
  • Flagship camera

Cons:

  • No wireless charging due to plastic body
  • No headphone jack

The Samsung Galaxy S10 Lite coming at a price tag of Rs 39,999 for the configuration of 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage, the device is definitely worth a look as it brings Samsung’s high-end hardware to the masses. It has a 6.7-inch full-HD+ (1080×2400 pixels) super AMOLED Display with a punch-hole in the centre. This device boasts a powerful 7nm Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 chipset. The phone runs on the latest Android 10 powered by a 4500 mAh battery which can be charged with the 25W fast charger available in the box.

The S10 Lite has a simple design and comes with a glass-like panel which Samsung calls ‘Glastic’, which catches a lot of fingerprints and smudges. The front panel has an Infinity-O display which looks modern, although there is no curved display. The SIM tray is at the right while the bottom of the smartphone houses the Type-C port and speaker grille. The 3.5mm headphone jacks remain to be missing.

Samsung Galaxy S10 Lite comes with a 6.7-inch full-HD+ (1080×2400 pixels) Super AMOLED display with a punch-hole design and 20:9 aspect ratio which covers almost the entire front with slim bezels all around. This ‘Infinity-O’ display comes with a pixel density of 394ppi. Thanks to the Widevine L1 certification and HDR+ support, which makes media streaming great, and playing games is a true delight.

One of the most exciting and impressive things about the S10 Lite is that it boasts the blazingly fast 7nm Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 855 chipset, the same processor that we have seen on the higher-end Galaxy Note 10/10+. The Snapdragon 855 is coupled with LPDDR4 8GB RAM which makes multitasking smoother and the overall user experience is seamless. There are no stutter or frame drops when playing games such as PUBG and Call of Duty even for long periods of time.

Samsung hasn’t compromised with the camera configuration in its Lite series. There is an impressive triple camera setup at the back and a single selfie camera residing in the punch hole at the front. The triple-lens set-up of the device includes a primary 48-megapixel f/2.0 main sensor sitting next to a 12-megapixel f/2.2 123-degree ultra-wide lens, and a 5-megapixel f/2.4 macro lens.

The main camera has an OIS system paired with Samsung’s Super Steady software.

The pictures with the primary camera came out to be stunning during day time with impressive levels of detail and dynamic range. Talking about photos in low lighting conditions, the results came out decent, thanks to the OIS. Come to selfies, there is a 32MP Selfie camera on the front which manages to gather a decent amount of details. The dynamic range is quite good too.

On the video front, we get support 4K 30/60 fps on both the front and rear cameras. Shooting modes such as Live Focus Video, Super Slow-Mo and Pro are also offered.

Samsung Galaxy S10 Lite the massive 4500mAh battery over the smaller 3400mAh present on the S10. But what’s even more interesting is that there’s 25W fast charging support with the device and you do get a 25W charger in the box. The bundled 25W charger delivers up to a 60% charge in just over 30 minutes. There is no wireless charging though.

To sum up, we can say that it’s just as good as the Samsung flagships. You can get the same performance and an impressive display along with the latest software and a much lower price when compared to the S10.  Presence of one of the fastest Snapdragon processors instead of Exynos, impressive out-door photography, decent low-light photography and a massive 4500mAh battery along with 25W fast charging are some of the other things that make the S10 Lite a bang for the buck.

However, there are still things missing in this package. Absence of wireless charging, 3.5mm headphone jack and dust/water resistance can really be a deal-breaker.
