Tecno Spark 8T Design and Build
Holding on to the Tecno Spark 8T and feeling like a fashion icon is all about striking the right mix between bold and appealing while being dynamic, sleek, and focused on young culture design. The use of cutting-edge NCVM colouring technology, which is visually thin, gives the Spark 8T a distinct and premium in-hand feel. The right side of the phone features volume rockers and the power button while the left side has the triple slot SIM tray. The bottom of the phone has a speaker grill, micro USB port, headphone jack and the primary microphone.
You will find a real mountain fingerprint scanner on the back inside the camera module which protrudes a little. The in-hand feel is really good and the phone does not feel heavy considering the big 5000 mAh battery.
Tecno Spark 8T has a glossy black finish which will definitely attract fingerprints. There is a thin row that stretches on the right side of the back panel which has the branding of Tecno Spark with the Matte Finish. So overall the back has both glossy and Matte Finish giving it a mixture of both. It is advised to use the plastic case that has been provided by the company to protect it from scratches and fingerprint smudges.
The product gets my additional attention and value thanks to the integrated rear camera design and minimised sidelines.

Tecno Spark 8T Display
When it comes to mobile displays in the budget class, Full-HD resolution displays are rare at this price point. That is why I’d say, if you’re looking for a phone under 9K, Tecno Spark 8T is a fantastic option. It has a 6.6-inch IPS display with a resolution of 1080 x 2408 pixels and a water drop selfie camera.

Because of the 500 nits brightness resolution, the screen is much more colourful to the eyes and easy to see in bright sunlight. While it isn’t the brightest display in its class, it is an excellent screen for casual viewing. The 91.3 per cent screen-to-body ratio gives you a nearly bezel-free experience. You will enjoy playing games and watching videos on YouTube on the big screen of Tecno Spark 8T.
And yes, don’t expect a high refresh rate here, it’s a standard 60Hz display and I’d like to report that the transitions and animations are mostly smooth if not fluid.
Tecno Spark 8T Performance
Tecno Spark 8T is equipped with a budget processor, 4GB RAM, and 64GB of internal storage, which is sufficient for heavy use. MicroSD cards can be used to expand the Tecno Spart 8T’s storage capacity. Its Hyperengine technology makes playing games on it more enjoyable, as well as provides a lag-free multitasking experience.

In terms of the processor, Tecno has used a 2.3GHz octa-core budget gaming chipset termed the Helio G35 in the Spark 8T. It’s a significant upgrade over the Helio A20 CPU found in Spark 7. The G35 is designed to be a low-cost gaming chipset. It is claimed to use the Hyperengine technology to provide lag-free performance. In terms of performance, my first impressions are positive. I tried light gaming on this phone and found it to be rather enjoyable. Nothing spectacular, but a satisfying game experience. This is not a smartphone for high-end Gamers. You won’t find any issue in using the phone for normal day to day activities.
Spark 8T’s overall performance was lag-free as per my experience of using it for 10 days, implying that the Mediatek chipset in this smartphone is performing admirably.
Tecno Spark 8T Software
Tecno Spark 8T runs on HiOS which is based on Android 11. The downside of this OS is it comes along with a lot of bloatware but the good thing is that you can uninstall any app which you don’t wish to keep on your phone. Another advantage of the HiOS can be the number of features it comes with. It has some impressive features like video caller, smart scanner, currency calculator, gesture navigation, custom timing dark theme

Unfortunately, the Android 12 update has not yet been rolled out by the company. I hope Tecno improves its ability to provide major system updates.
Tecno Spark 8T Camera
Tecno Spark 8T comes packed with a 50MP high-resolution dual back camera setup out of the box. Not only does it have a high-resolution sensor, but it also has a powerful f/1.6 aperture size, making it a capable sensor. There’s also a quad-LED flash on the rear.
The rear camera on the Tecno Spark 8T shoots crystal-clear photographs even in low light, putting it in a segment first. The images had good details and did not feel oversaturated at all.
The 50MP mode captures even more details than the normal mode. The Portrait mode works well and captures really good images in the proper lighting condition. The edge detection is on point and the skin tones seem to be pretty natural. The background blurring was done properly.
The camera packs a lot of features and different modes to capture photos and videos. Professional photography and filmmaking features include Video Bokeh, Smart Portrait, AI Beauty, Augmented Reality Emoji and Stickers, Google Lens, Time-lapse, and Slow Motion. To make it easier to take selfies, Tecno has included an 8MP camera with dual flash on the front of the smartphone. Talking about video recording both front and back cameras can record at full HD resolution.
Overall the cameras are pretty good considering the price point and I really like it.
Tecno Spark 8T Battery
A large battery capacity is becoming normal in recent years, although I still notice many companies that do not provide it. Tecno Spark 8T’s non-removable Li-Ion 5000 mAh battery offers ample battery life. On a single charge, it allowed me to enjoy an uninterrupted smartphone experience for a prolonged period of time.
Tecno, on the other hand, has ensured that you get the most out of your battery by providing further battery optimization. I can vouch for these improvements because I’ve previously used Tecno devices. In their HiOS versions, Spark 7, Camon 17, and POVA 2 all have comparable battery optimizations. This big battery has a standby length of 38 days, a music playback time of 122 hours, and a talk time of 40 hours.
Tecno Spark 8T comes with a 10W charger which can be pretty disappointing considering the big 5000 mAh battery. It will take more than two hours to completely charge the device from 0 to 100 per cent. But again you can’t complain about it considering the price tag it comes at.

Tecno Spark 8T Audio, Connectivity, Biometrics
The Spark 8T features a single downward-firing speaker that isn’t the loudest in its class. Tecno Spark 8T also comes with DTS Sound SOPLAY 2.0 for music producers that allows voice recording, lyrics writing, and one-click ringtones, and it doesn’t even require internet! That makes it an altogether wonderful user experience.
The Spark 8T supports 3G and 4G networks. This smartphone has a GPS receiver built-in. The Global Positioning System (GPS) is a satellite-based navigation system that enables the precise determination of one’s geographic location on the planet. This Tecno smartphone comes equipped with an FM radio receiver.
Tecno Spark 8T features a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner that is pretty fast and unlocks the phone instantly when you tap on it. There is also a face unlock feature on the phone which takes a little more time but does the work.

Tecno is a pioneer in the field of manufacturing top low-mid range smartphones. When I first looked at the Tecno Spark 8T, I had a good impression. But, because the smartphone is a killer device, these sensations were magnified after I started using it. The Mediatek CPU in it performs admirably since the phone lags far less than its predecessors. It’s a fast phone that also offers a good gaming experience. Not to forget, I liked the looks and design of the phone and how it performed in terms of photography. Overall, I’m quite impressed with the Tecno Spark 8T. This is a good budget pick in my opinion, and I would recommend purchasing it if you are seeking a solid and powerful smartphone in the budget.
