OPPO F31 Pro Plus Design and Build
OPPO F31 Pro Plus offers an amazing finish on the back. I have just one concern, which might not be the same for everyone: I’m unable to use this phone with one hand due to its large screen. In contrast, this phone is designed for those seeking a large screen and a substantial battery setup.

It has body dimensions of 163.1 x 77.6 x 7.7 mm or 7.9 mm (thickness varies by brand). So, it is relatively large compared to the OPPO Reno 14. OPPO also included an IP68/IP69 rating for dust tightness and water resistance.

It can resist high-pressure water jets and be immersed up to 1.5m for 30 minutes. Additionally, it is MIL-STD-810H compliant, but this does not guarantee ruggedness or performance in extreme conditions.
Moving on to its build again, its matte finish feels a bit different, and I didn’t really like it much. When you rub your fingers softly over the back, you’ll feel a slight rough texture. It’s not bad by any means, but some people might not find it appealing. I’m an iPhone 15 user, and I recently used the OPPO Reno 14; both have matte finishes that look and feel more premium compared to the F31 Pro Plus.

While OPPO aimed to give a similar look to the OPPO Find X8 Pro with its camera module, it effectively kept the camera bump minimal. Its sleek, colour-active finish on the frame also helps it stand out from other phones.

Regarding ports, it features a stereo speaker, serving as a secondary speaker, and a microphone is positioned at the top. A volume button and a power button are added on the right side. You get a speaker strip, a Type-C jack, and a microphone at the bottom.

OPPO F31 Pro Plus Camera
The OPPO F31 Pro Plus offers a decent camera setup with a 50MP wide-angle and a 2MP ultra-wide sensor on the back. At the same time, you may be confused about having a triple rear camera because the design resembles a camera sensor.

Its main camera aims to deliver premium-level photos at a mid-range price. During the OPPO F31 Pro Plus review, I tested it under various li̧ghting conditions, and the experience feels reliable overall. However, not without a few quirks that appear in specific scenarios.

In normal daylight, shots come out clean, detailed, and balanced. Its colour science feels mature, it doesn’t oversaturate unnecessarily, and tones look fairly true-to-life.

These are clearly visible in my image sample, such as flowers, and in my image as well. I noticed that the camera handles dynamic range impressively, especially in harsh sunlight, where it manages to preserve both bright skies and shaded areas without clipping details.

However, things take a slightly inconsistent turn in portrait mode. While the subject separation is on point and skin tones look natural in most shots, the colour tuning sometimes shifts unpredictably. For instance, one frame may reproduce accurate, natural hues, and simply changing the shooting angle can lead to a sudden boost in saturation, especially in warmer tones.

I think this inconsistency is happening due to OPPO’s less capable AI colour processing. You can see my two portrait modes, which were completely changed at the same location, simply by adjusting the angle.

Still, when the lighting is right, portraits look beautiful with smooth bokeh and flattering skin tones. The Night Mode effectively enhances brightness and contrast. But it’s not flagship-level night photography, but the results are more than satisfactory for casual users.

The 32MP front camera captures crisp selfies in daylight with fine facial details. You can take better selfies in natural light, while low or harsh lighting affects its image quality. Additionally, you can record 4K videos at 30fps with its rear and front cameras. I recorded a few videos in noisy conditions, and its voice detection performs well for normal videography.
OPPO F31 Pro Plus Battery and Charging
OPPO F31 Pro Plus offers a massive 7,000mAh battery capacity. I’ve been using this phone for a month, and I mainly watch movies. I would say it offers excellent battery life on a single charge.

During the OPPO F31 Pro Plus review, I got almost 15 to 16 hours of screen time when watching downloaded movies. During heavy usage, the battery life decreases automatically and is around 10 to 11 hours of screen time.

While it comes with 80W wired fast charging support, which offers 42 per cent charge in just 20 minutes, it takes almost 55 minutes for a full charge. You can also charge your earbud and smartwatch because of 10W reverse wired charging support.
OPPO F31 Pro Plus Display
The OPPO F31 Pro Plus features a 6.8-inch AMOLED display, ideal for binge-watching. This phone is best suited for those who are looking for a giant screen. It also comes with a 120Hz refresh rate, allowing you to scroll quickly.

You can change it from settings to auto select, standard, and high. In contrast, it has an app space and refresh rate mode, which allows you to select the refresh rate manually for specific apps.

Moreover, it comes with a 1600 nits of HBM (High Brightness Mode) brightness, which is decent. Because I used this phone in harsh sunlight, it is not very visible, but enough for normal usage. OPPO also added AGC DT-Star D+ protection for display safety.

If you’re using the phone normally (pocketed and occasionally dropped, under no extreme conditions), this glass choice is sufficient. The “slightly inferior” drop/impact performance compared to any top-tier Gorilla Glass version means you should accept a little higher risk of cracking in extreme drop conditions.

It also has HDR10+ support, so you can watch high-quality videos on this phone from YouTube, Netflix, Amazon Prime, etc. During the OPPO F31 Pro Plus review, I always preferred to watch the highest quality, and its deep black was also amazing.
OPPO F31 Pro Plus Performance
Performance is the hot pick of any device review. OPPO F31 Pro Plus comes with Qualcomm SM7550-AB Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 (4 nm) chip. This chipset is designed for stable daily usage, not ideal for heavy usage.

However, performance is not something that can be measured solely by the chipset; it’s a combined result of CPU, GPU, RAM, Storage, and device optimisation, along with their UIs.
In everyday use, the phone handles itself impressively well. Whether you’re scrolling through social media, switching between multiple apps, or watching high-definition content, the device rarely misses a beat.
Animations feel fluid, and app launches are swift. It’s the kind of consistent, confident performance that makes daily interaction smooth. In short, it’s one of those phones that “just works” in most cases, which matches your observation perfectly.

However, when pushed a bit harder, as I played a lot of games like BGMI and Asphalt 9 on the OPPO F31 Pro Plus for review, it heats up. Honestly, during extended gaming sessions, 4K video recording, or heavy multitasking, its natural limitations begin to show.
The Adreno 720 GPU inside the Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 handles most games well at medium to high settings. Still, you may notice occasional frame drops or heat build-up during longer sessions in BGMI. So, it will be the same in other battlefield games.
I’m not going to judge this phone and categorise it as a low-performing device. This isn’t due to poor optimisation, rather, it’s a reflection of the chip’s placement in the upper mid-range tier. It’s designed to offer solid, sustained power without excessive drain or heat, rather than competing with flagship-class processors like the Snapdragon 8 Elite.
On the technical side, the 4nm fabrication significantly improves thermals and energy use, meaning you get longer screen-on times even with demanding use. In multiple tests, the chipset consistently maintains stable performance with minimal thermal throttling, a positive sign for longevity and sustained workloads.

Here are some test results which conducted will show you a clear picture like Its Geekbench CPU scores are 735 in single-core and 2471 in multi-core. The maximum in the CPU throttling test is 63%. Moreover, its Antutu score is 1052440. The 3DMark Wildlife Extreme Stress Test for stability has an overall score of 58.1%.
OPPO F31 Pro Plus Software and UI
Regarding the OPPO F31 Pro Plus UI, it is based on Android 15, with a three-year major upgrade.

OPPP added their latest Colour OS 15, while there is no information about Colour OS 16, but it will be installable once avilable to all. Its app closing and opening are smooth, animation is also pleasing.

You can choose different types of wallpaper; I was using one from Flux Themes, whose tagline is “design your style.” One thing to note is that you can change your fingerprint animation, which is a really cool feature. You can also add edge lighting, such as Apple’s Intelligent Edge Animation.

Discussing the software that still exists on this phone, such as. Snapchat, Netflix, Hot app, Hot game, etc. However, you can uninstall them as soon as possible. It’s because after multiple updates, your device may slow down. So, it’s better to scrap earlier.

The OPPO F31 Pro Plus features special AI-enhanced capabilities that improve its camera performance. It helps take pictures with better colours and details. There are also special modes for capturing beautiful portraits and enhancing people’s appearance. Additionally, the phone features AI tools that enhance its performance and improve connectivity.
After using the phone for over a month, this OPPO F31 Pro Plus review shows that it’s a strong mid-range performer built for endurance and style-conscious users. The Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 chipset ensures dependable everyday performance, and the massive 7,000mAh battery easily lasts a full day of heavy use. The display is large and smooth, perfect for streaming and social media, while the IP69 rating gives it extra durability.
However, the inconsistent portrait mode and slightly unrefined matte finish hold it back from feeling truly premium. If you value long battery life, a crisp display, and dependable performance over gaming extremes, the OPPO F31 Pro Plus 5G makes a well-balanced choice under ₹35,000.
