Threads by Instagram is introducing a new edit feature similar to its rival X (Formerly Twitter). This new feature will allow you to edit a post after you have shared it. Unlike X, the feature will be available for free for all Threads users, and you don’t need to pay for any subscription. The company has also released a new Voice Threads.
How To Use Edit Feature On Threads By Instagram?
According to a post by Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg, the Edit and Voice Threads feature is rolling out to Threads users. It is now available on the Android and iOS apps apart from the Threads website. Using the feature, you can edit your posts for up to 5 minutes once you have posted them. There are no restrictions on the number of times you can edit your post as long as you do it in the first five minutes.

To edit your post on Threads, open the app and share a post. Next, click on the three-dot menu in the top right corner. Select the first option, “Edit”, and you can make changes to your post. A timer will also appear next to the button, indicating the time left until you can edit the post.

While the time limit for editing your post is shorter than X (Formerly Twitter), this feature is accessible to all users. X allows you to edit your posts for up to 30 minutes but limits the feature to only its Premium feature. This subscription costs Rs.650 per month, while Threads allows you to do the same for free.
Another new Threads feature is Voice Threads, which allows you to post an audio clip. You can now record and share your voice notes on Threads. To use this feature, compose a new thread and click the microphone icon next to the gallery button. Click on the red button at the bottom and start recording your voice. There is also an option to add a caption next to the audio clip when posting it.
