LG K40S looks like any other phone present in the low mid-range zone. Priced at Rs. 13,990, the phone has a few things to offer which might satisfy the audience.

The LG K40S does not score well on performance or design departments, but it does have a reliable battery to keep it going. Plus, it can click decent shots in the day without picking up too much noise. However, in the price range, it seems to offer a lot less, and hence, it is not a recommended model.

The LG K40S looks like any budget phone from 2019. It has a comfortable feel to it, but it does not have any premium setting coming with it. The phone looks decent and has the dimensions of 156.30 x 73.90 x 8.60mm. The buttons are also present in ergonomic locations. However, in the front, the phone has a thick bottom and top bezel, making it a less immersive phone to go for. It also has a fingerprint sensor which works well and is mostly accurate.

It is not very vibrant, and the brightness is quite low. Plus, the presence of slim bezels makes the phone immersive. However, indoors, the display remains moderately bright.

On top of that, you cannot run many apps on this phone simultaneously. It will naturally enter the slow-down mode with intensive app use. You cannot play graphics-heavy games like PUBG on this handset. However, you can go for games like Subway Surfer, though there might be rare frame drops too.

The LG K40S has a 13MP primary camera along with a 5MP supporting camera. When the lights are adequate, the cameras can do its job well without a problem. During low-light situations, however, the camera starts to falter, producing low-quality shots with a lot of grain present. The rear camera however as phase detection autofocus too. In the front, the phone has a 13MP selfie camera which can click social-media worthy photos in proper light conditions. However, in low light, it starts to gather a lot of grain.

The LG K40S has a low 3,500mAh battery. Nowadays, 4000 mAh battery is considered a standard so, 3500 mAh battery may seem small. However, you get a dated display which does not drain much battery, making the battery long-lasting. This battery can keep chugging the phone for a whole day.

The phone is a budget handset and acts like one. It has a miserable performance level and arrives with a poor display. However, the phone does come with a reliable battery and a passable camera which gets the job done. You should not load too many expectations on this phone. If you want a second handset with budget characteristics, then the LG K40S will serve your needs without a problem.
