The Vivo V5S features a 5.5-inch Color IPS Screen with 16M colours and 720 x 1280 pixels and 16:9 aspect ratio. The Corning Gorilla Glass 3 screen protection ensures this device from daily wear and tears. The Octa Core 1.5GHz Mediatek Helio MT6750 processor at 4GB RAM and Android 6.0 Marshmallow Operating System are a given in this phone which smoothens the entire performance. Integrated with a non-removable 3,000mAh Li-ion battery and several connectivity features like GPRS, EDGE, 3G,4G, VoLTE, Bluetooth v4.0, etc.

Saving the best for last, the Vivo V5s also comes with a 20MP selfie camera with several features like face detection, Geo tagging, Panorama, Touch to focus, etc. The rear camera is of 13MP with autofocus and accompanying Flash LED that also enables video recording of 1080p at 30fps rate.

The Vivo V5s has a dimension of  153.8 x 75.5 x 7.6 mm and weighs just 154 g which provides an excellent faux-metal finish in the body. The fingerprint scanner, the antennas and the slim physical buttons. Available in Matte Black and Crown Gold colour options, this smartphone looks like the exact copy of the Vivo V5 Plus. Easily accessible fingerprint scanner and a sleek finish, the V5s is pretty good to hold – which comes without any branding in the middle of the rear panel.

The 5.5-inch HD (720×1280 pixels) IPS display screen with a 2.5D curved-edge Gorilla Glass for protection, and the density of 267ppi. The show is super bright and appears sharp compared to the other smartphones. The Full HD resolution would have been appropriate at this price range and can be a bummer.

With an octa-core 1.5GHz Mediatek Helio MT6750 processor and 4GB RAM, this smartphone runs pretty smooth, and in the case of high-resolution games, it can get a bit slow but run freeze free with on an average of 2.3GB of RAM idle. The Vivo V5s doesn’t heat too much unless you use the camera and the games for long.

The V5s comes with a 20MP front camera and 13MP rear camera when the former take good selfies in low-light thanks to the several predefined modes and features like the Face Beauty, etc. The rear camera is snappy with the focus and yields colourful photographs.

The non-removable 3000mAh battery can last up to 12 hours, 45 minutes in excessive usage. However, even without the quick charging, the smartphone takes 90 minutes to charge fully from zero – which is good.

The Vivo V5s is impressive in its strength, battery life and camera quality – however, the outdated Operating System of Marshmallow and the lack of Full HD are the major bummers in this otherwise all-rounder phone even at INR 14,990/- on Amazon.
