Xiaomi Redmi Note 14 Pro Design And Build

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 14 Pro has a fresher design than its predecessor. With a triple camera setup, you get a large squircle camera module on the back, similar to the iQOO 12. It has a Redmi branding on the bottom left corner and is available in Black, White, Purple and Green.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 14 Pro Design

I have the Xiaomi Redmi Note 14 Pro in Green for review, and it looks beautiful with a subtle two-tone finish. The design is reminiscent of iQOO phones and brings a fresh appeal to the Note series.

Despite the larger battery, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 14 remains slim at just 8.5mm, and I did not face any issues holding the phone during my review. It is also lightweight at just 190 grams.

Another major change is the IP rating. Xiaomi has included an IP68 and IP69 rating, which is a major improvement over the IP54 of its predecessor. You get a premium glass back with an elegant matte finish.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 14 Pro Camera

The Redmi Note 14 Pro boasts a triple camera setup on the back. You get a 50-megapixel Sony IMX 882 sensor, an 8-megapixel ultrawide angle Sony IMX 335 and a 2-megapixel macro lens. On the front, you get a 20-megapixel selfie camera.

During daylight, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 14 Pro can capture great photos with plenty of detail and saturation. I enjoyed taking plenty of photos during the Xiaomi Redmi Note 14 Pro Review. Sadly, there is no telephoto lens like on its competitors like Realme 13 Pro Plus.

The 8-megapixel ultrawide angle sensor can also capture good photos, although the output isn’t as sharp as the primary sensor. The 2-megapixel macro lens is only good on paper, and frankly, Xiaomi should have opted for a telephoto lens.

At night, the phone can take some stunning shots with a wide dynamic range and the ability to preserve details in shadows and highlights. It can record videos at 4K at 30 FPS from the primary camera and 1080p at 60 FPS from the front camera. Talking of selfies, the 20-megapixel camera can take good photos with accurate skin tones and details.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 14 Pro Battery And Charging

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 14 Pro packs a massive 5,500mAh battery. The phone can easily last an entire day on a single charge, and I faced no battery anxiety issues. Furthermore, during my Xiaomi Redmi Note 14 Pro review, I used the phone extensively to watch content, take photos, listen to music, and play games.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 14 Pro Battery

Using the 45W charger, I was able to charge the phone to 100 per cent within just an hour. However, I would have preferred at least 67W or 80W charging, given its premium price.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 14 Pro Display

The Redmi Note 14 Pro boasts a 6.67-inch 1.5K curved AMOLED screen with a 120Hz refresh rate. Furthermore, the phone has Corning Gorilla Victus 2 for protection. The phone has curved sides with a centre punch hole cutout compared to a flat panel on its predecessor.

Display

With a peak brightness of 3000 nits, the phone can be easily viewed even under bright sunlight. I enjoyed watching content during my Xiaomi Redmi Note 14 Pro review.

You also get HDR 10+ and Dolby Vision support for OTT apps. Thanks to the 120Hz refresh rate, navigating through the user interface felt really smooth and fluid.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 14 Pro Performance

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 14 Pro is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 3200 Ultra processor based on a 4nm process. It is the same processor found in other budget phones like the Vivo V40e, priced under Rs.30,000.I have the 8GB RAM and 128GB UFS 2.2 storage variant of the Xiaomi Redmi Note 14 Pro for review.

Performance

The phone remains smooth in day-to-day tasks, and I did not encounter any lags or stutters. Furthermore, there is also support for up to 8GB of RAM expansion to keep your apps in memory.

When it comes to gaming, you can play games like BGMI at 60 FPS (Smooth and Extreme) and CODM at 60 FPS (High and Max). During my Xiaomi Redmi Note 14 Pro review, I did not face any lags or stutters. The framerates were consistent, and the phone did not even during my intense gaming sessions.

When it comes to benchmarks, the MediaTek Dimensity 7300 Ultra scores 1032 in the single-core test and 2880 in the multi-core test on Geekbench. Furthermore, the phone managed to score 662024 in AnTuTu V10, apart from a score of 3087 in the 3D Mark Wild Life test. Overall, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 14 Pro managed to get great scores during my review, but if you are a hardcore gamer, then there are much better options available.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 14 Pro Software And UI

The Redmi Note 14 Pro ships with HyperOS based on Android 14 out of the box. While sadly, there isn’t Android 15, Xiaomi promises three major Android updates, so you can expect updates until Android 17.

Software

Technically, this is only two years of updates since it should have shipped with Android 15. Regardless, you have the same HyperOS features as its predecessor. There are plenty of customization options, including Live Wallpaper, Always On Display, Lock Screen customization and more. I did like the software features during my Xiaomi Redmi Note 14 Pro review.

Hopefully, Xiaomi can launch the phone with HyperOS 2 and Android 15 in India. The company also needs to work on removing bloatware and providing a clean software experience.

Verdict

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 14 Pro brings several upgrades over its predecessor, including a brighter and premium curved display, better cameras and a larger battery life. However, the performance isn’t the best in class, and Xiaomi also needs to improve its charging speed.

I thoroughly enjoyed using the Xiaomi Redmi Note 14 Pro during my review, and it’s an easy phone to recommend if you are not an intense gamer. You can also consider other options like the Realme 13 Pro 5G, Poco X6 Pro 5G and the Motorola Edge 40 Neo.
