POCO M6 Plus 5G Design and Build
I got the POCO M6 Plus 5G in Ice Silver for review, which looks very beautiful. It is lightweight at 205 grams, so you can use it ideally without any fatigue.
But this one has a pretty-looking glass back; this dual-tone design gives an excellent feel. Its frame is entirely plastic, and on the front side, it has a display with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 in the centre punch-hole design.
Its transition between the glass and the frame is relatively smooth, but the edges are a bit sharp, which I personally do not like. POCO M6 Plus 5G’s design is suitable for one-hand use; the grip is good, and it does not slip, but it is easily prone to fingerprints.
So, this thing gives a wrong impression of the phone’s design. You will get to see the speaker grill, Type C port and microphone on the bottom side.
There is a 3.5mm jack and an infrared sensor on the top of the phone.
On the right side, you will get to see the volume rocker, as well as the power button with an integrated fingerprint scanner.
On the left side, you will see the SIM tray, which is a hybrid SIM slot. Its overall dimension is 168.6 x 76.3 x 8.3 mm.

POCO M6 Plus 5G Camera
POCO M6 Plus 5G has a 108 MP + 2 MP dual rear camera. 108-megapixel photos are being clicked quite well. There is also a 13MP front camera. You can take good pictures with the phone even after you zoom in.
There is also an option of 3x zoom with its primary camera, which is digital zoom only. But when you click a photo with 3x zoom, you will see the clarity decent because it has a 108-megapixel camera sensor.
I took photos in many environments with the POCO M6 Plus 5G to review the camera quality. Its camera is okay, according to this price.
When you take pictures during the day, the photo’s tone changes a bit. The images will look a little saturated, but the colour of the sky is almost correct, in my opinion.
Otherwise, its primary camera takes decent photos in low light. I took a lot of photos at night, but the photos were nothing special. I also used a flashlight, but you will see a lot of grains.
The selfie camera’s details are good, but the colours are not that good. You can see a little yellow tint on my face in the all-over photos. In fact, the colour of my T-shirt also did not look natural here.
The primary camera captures the skin tones well, but again, the skin tones do not look that good in the front camera.
In terms of videos, both the front and back cameras can record 1080p at 30fps. You do not have the option of 60fps here.

POCO M6 Plus 5G Battery and Charging
I reviewed the POCO M6 Plus 5G battery, which is very good. It has a 5030 mAh battery and 33-watt fast charging.
To test the battery, I used Instagram for about 1 hour; neither the battery drained much nor did the phone get warm. I also watched a 2-hour TV show on YouTube, so the battery dropped by about 33 cents. I played a lot of BGMI on it, so the battery drained faster than when watching videos.
Overall, the POCO M6 Plus 5G battery was quite amazing in my review. It has a 33W fast charger, which will fully charge your phone in about 1 hour. So, the battery segment is quite strong.

POCO M6 Plus 5G Display
POCO M6 Plus 5G has a 6.79-inch Full HD Plus display with a refresh rate of 120 Hz. There is no AMOLED display here, but the company have managed with a full HD display. Usually, you will only find LCD phones in this price range. Yes, there are some phones, like Samsung Galaxy F15, Xiaomi Redmi Note 12, Realme 10, etc, that offer AMOLED displays.
Its refresh rate is 120 Hz, which is good. It also has an adaptive refresh rate option, so it changes automatically according to the particular application. The peak brightness of this POCO M6 Plus 5G is 550Hz, but when I used it in bright sunlight, I found it a bit dull. You will get a decent experience of watching all the comprehensive content because YouTube can run only up to a maximum of 1080p at 60fps. There is neither HDR nor 2K or 4K in it.
So, its display quality is quite average because when the screen size is big, the pixels get a little torn, and because of that, the colours are not as good as they are in a smaller display. If there were an AMOLED display, it would have been a different matter because every pixel has a separate light, which is not the case with LCD panels. Overall, the colours of the display seemed average to me.

POCO M6 Plus 5G Performance
POCO M6 Plus 5G has a Qualcomm SM4450 Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 AE (4 nm) for fast processing. I received 8GB RAM and 128GB storage variants for review, which offer smooth processing. It has another variant with 6GB RAM and a 128GB storage variant. Moreover, it has a UFS 2.2 type storage, which is almost good. You can also insert memory card to expand internal storage.
I ran several performance tests on the POCO M6 Plus 5G to review it. Its Geekbench scores are 958 in single-core and 2205 in multi-core. The maximum in the CPU throttling test is 64 per cent. Moreover, its Antutu score is 431186. The 3D Mark Wildlife Extreme Stress Test for stability has an overall score 98.3 per cent.
During the Antutu benchmark and CPU throttling test, it warmed, but not like the Apple iPhone 13 and Vivo V40. Recently, I reviewed the Apple iPhone 13; it became an oven during these tests. I also played several games like BGMI, COC, and Asphalt. Phones give overall decent performance. It only supports HD quality in BGMI.

POCO M6 Plus 5G Software and UI
POCO M6 Plus 5G has been launched on Android14’s HyperOS and comes with two years of significant updates.
This means the phone will remain utterly new in terms of software for two years. They have also promised four years of security updates, so I liked this.
The UI of this phone is quite decent, although it has one or two features that are a bit amazing. For example, the apps are divided according to their category.
I did not like the overall UI very much. Also, it is full of bloated apps and games such as Crazy Juicer, Tile Fun, Netflix, Bubble Shooter etc, which makes your device slow. But, you can uninstall them as you wish.
POCO M6 Plus 5G was launched recently. It is almost a clone of the Redmi 13 5G with a lower price. It offers a powerful battery, so users can use it for a long time at a single charge. Moreover, you can play games and other things without feeling warm.
It also has a large display, offering only 1080p quality. So, you will not get excellent video quality. Its performance is quite average, but you can play games and watch long videos for a long time. I have a POCO M6 Plus 5G in Ice Silver, which looks very attractive. But its glass back can easily break in accidental drop. Moreover, its back is a little bit sharp, so it is also a drawback of this phone.
In my POCO M6 Plus 5G review, it is an average device in this price range. Several phones are in this price range, including the OPPO K12x, Vivo T3x, Xiaomi Redmi 13 5G, Samsung Galaxy M34, Motorola Moto G64 5G, Realme Narzo 70 5G, etc. So, you can compare these phone features with the POCO M6 Plus 5G before buying it.
