Motorola Moto One 5G Ace

Motorola has launched multiple 5G devices in the 4th quarter last year at reasonable price tags and starting this new year, there is yet another 5G smartphone from the brand, the Motorola One 5G Ace belonging to the mid-range section. The latest device comes with few promising features like a huge battery and decent performance with Qualcomm’s chipset. Motorola has launched this smartphone in the US and this device will hit the Indian smartphone market in the upcoming months. Motorola One 5G Ace Price in India

Motorola has placed this device in the mid-range section and launched this device into variants, the first variant is featuring 4GB RAM and 64GB internal storage and the second one comes with 8GB RAM and 128GB internal storage. As for the price, Motorola has launched the 8GB RAM variant of One 5G Ace at a price of $399.99 in the US and going to be available starting January 14th. The users can start pre-ordering starting January 8th on Amazon and the official site of the Motorola brand. Motorola One 5G Ace price and availability in India is yet to be announced but the expected price in India is Rs.29,390. Considering the competition and the given specs, the Motorola One 5G Ace is overpriced.

The front side of the Motorola One 5G Ace comes with a punch-hole for housing the selfie camera and the edges are relatively thin along with minimum noticeable bezels at the bottom. The front panel offers an appealing view, but the story turns around when we look at the rear side of this smartphone. The smartphone company has followed the old trend of placing the fingerprint sensor on the back panel which is not pleasing at all. Apart from that, there is a square-shaped camera module housing the triple-camera setup along with LED Flash. However, the company has kept something to cheer about and that is the water repellent design with IP52 certification.

Holding a huge battery, the overall weight of the Motorola One 5G Ace is quite bulky and thick as well, so it might be hard to hold his deice for a long time. On the right side, the smartphone is included with the power button and the volume rockers and the bottom side features the USB 2.0 charging port, which is unacceptable at this price point and also there are 3.5mm headphone jack and a space for the speaker grille. In a nut-shell, Motorola should have worked more on the design of the Motorola One 5G Ace. 

Motorola One Ace 5G comes with a 6.7-inch FHD+ LTPS display, featuring an aspect ratio of 20:9, a pixel density of 394PPI and 90% active area-touch panel. With a resolution of 1080 pixels, the Max Vision display is good enough to offer sharp text and images.

Nowadays, using an LTPS panel in this price range is not well-known. This entails that blacks won’t appear as deep as in case of some higher technology. Also, there are no traces of HDR and higher refresh rate in any form.

One of the best processors from 2020 was Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 750G. It offered a great balance between power and price. This premium mid-range SoC was featured in the Samsung Galaxy A42 and Moto G 5G, both of which were decent smartphones. The best thing is that the Motorola One Ace 5G comes with the same chipset, offering the super-fast 5G connectivity along with solid performance. Motorola One 5G Ace runs on the Android 10 out of the box and is compatible with fingerprint reader, proximity sensor, accelerometer, ambient light sensor, Gyroscope, e-compass and barometer.

Unlike the Motorola Moto G 5G, which had a total of six cameras, the Motorola One 5G Ace has three rear cameras and a selfie shooter. Coming to the rear camera setup, there is a 48 MP main sensor and it does a decent job at capturing snapshots, this is followed by an 8MP Ultra-Wide-Angle camera, which has nothing special to write about and the third sensor, a 2MP Macro camera, which is also pretty unusable. Speaking about the punch-hole on the front side, it houses a 16MP selfie camera. Overall, the camera setup of the Motorola One Ace 5G is not impressive at all, when compared with other smartphones from the same price range. Same cameras were seen in Moto G 5G, launched in the 4th quarter last year at a lower price than Motorola One Ace 5G.

The other noteworthy feature of the Motorola One 5G Ace is its massive 5000 mAh battery, which according to the company is sufficient to ensure a power backup for two complete days with moderate usage and 5G on. The only glitch in this section is that the smartphone is shipped by the Motorola with a meagre 10W charger, which is nothing compared to what’s available in the market today. The similarly priced OnePlus Nord N100 5G, which is its closest competitor comes with a Warp Charge 30T charger.

Motorola One 5G Ace comes with a huge battery, super-fast 5G connectivity, a decent processor and water repellent design. Only these features favour this smartphone, while the rest of the specs make this device overpriced for the given price tag. There are other better options available in the market if you are looking for a 5G smartphone with solid overall specs.
