Review Summary

Jabra packs the Elite 7 Pro with a slew of premium features at a price that is better than the competition. It is a good pair of earbuds that fit comfortably in the ear and have excellent sound quality.

They support multi-device pairing, have a fantastic app with customisation options for their audio and ANC feature, and you can reassign all the touch controls on each earbud individually.

However, are these earbuds worth the premium price tag they carry? Let’s find out in this Jabra Elite 7 Pro review.

Jabra Elite 7 Pro Design and Comfort

The Jabra Elite 7 Pro comes with a premium-looking design and a more refined look than its predecessors. At first glance, it looks very similar to the Jabra Elite 7 Active. However, this time it’s more compact and smaller in size.

The buds are pretty lightweight, weighing just 5.4 grams each and fit snugly in my ears. It was comfortable to wear for a long duration and I did feel any discomfort even after wearing it for a full day. I got the Titanium Black colour option for the review which looks amazing. There are two other colour options: Gold Beige and Black.

Jabra Elite 7 Pro Design

The charging case, however, is the most notable difference. Jabra has switched to a more traditional clamshell shape in place of its unique upright design coming with a flip-top lid.

It’s more sturdy and robust than the one we saw in Elite 7 active. It has a Type-C port at the bottom side and a small LED above it which lights up whenever the case is opened. The LED also shows how much battery is left.

The earbuds are protected from water and dust by an IP57 rating. You can use them by the pool or hit the gym with no worries.

Jabra Elite 7 Pro Audio Quality

The Jabra Elite 7 Pro have a fairly pleasing audio quality out of the box that will make most of the genres sound pretty good. The good thing about Jabra earbuds is that you can also customise the audio from the companion app to your liking.

The earbuds produced clear and loud audio with punchy bass; additionally, the output is crisp and bright, so it doesn’t take away the charm of whatever style of music you’re listening to. The vocals are clear and distinct from the instrumentation.

Even at max volume, there was no distortion. Although the ANC was good, I had hoped for it to be even better—like the one in Sony’s 1000XM4. Even without ANC, the passive noise cancellation on these earbuds is better compared to the competition, thanks to the deep and snug fit of the eartips.

Jabra ANC

The call quality was great and the other person on the call could hear me clearly. The Jabra Elite 7 Pro might be the right choice for you if call quality and sound quality are your top priorities.

Jabra Elite 7 Pro Battery and Charging

Jabra claims that the earbuds can deliver a battery life of eight hours on a single charge and for a total of 30 hours with the charging case. These numbers are very true as per my time with the earbuds. I got a little more than eight hours with ANC turned on, which is pretty impressive.

For comparison, my favourite Sony WF-1000XM4 also offers eight hours of battery life.

You can even get more battery life by turning off features like ANC. Things get even better with the charging case. A quick charge of just 5 minutes will give you a playback time of an hour.

It takes about two and a half hours to fully charge the case using the Type-C port. You can even charge the case wirelessly using a compatible Qi wireless charging pad.

Jabra Elite 7 Pro Features and Connectivity

The Jabra Elite 7 Pro comes with Bluetooth 5.2 connectivity. You can download the Jabra Sound+ app to access various features of the earbuds. The app is simple to use and pretty straightforward.

Jabra Elite 7 Pro Features

There are standard single, double and triple tap gestures to control the different functionalities of the buds. You can control everything from volume to ANC to tracks. The Jabra Sound+ app lets you customise these gestures as per your liking.

The recent update also adds the Bluetooth multi-point feature. So, now you can connect to two devices at a time, like your laptop and phone. The app also includes a Soundscape mode. This masks the noise around you by simply playing audio of a waterfall or pink noise.

You can also adjust the noise cancellation level to hear only what you want to hear in your surroundings. Automatic call answering and microphone muting are both possible with in-ear detection.

In addition, you get features like Find My earbuds, auto-power off timing, as well as your choice of voice guidance and more. When you activate the mode switch, you can choose to switch through ANC, transparency, and off modes, or you can select any two of those modes.

Verdict

Overall, I was pretty impressed by the Jabra Elite 7 Pro. They offer great sound quality, good battery backup, and many premium features at the Rs. 18,999 price tag. It comes with a solid IP rating and a great fit.

There are not many bad things to say about these earbuds. The only thing I can point out is that the ANC is not the best in the segment; it could have been better.

That being said, they are one of the best earbuds you can get under 20K. However, I’d still go with the Sony WF-1000XM4 for the best sound quality with even better ANC.
