    What are The Game Awards?

    The game awards

The Game Awards ceremony is an annual awards ceremony that is meant to showcase and recognise the achievements of the gaming industry. From small indie developers to the AAA games from major studios, the ceremony will take a look at what made gaming tick in that particular year. It was first established in 2014, and the 2022 ceremony will be its ninth edition.

How does the TGA vote work?

The Game Awards (TGA) vote works similarly to other prestigious award ceremonies. There’s a committee comprising representatives from famous companies such as Microsoft, AMD, Nintendo, Nvidia, and Sony. Furthermore, this committee then selects thirty of the best and most prestigious video game news organisations. These thirty news organisations will then have the right to vote on their favourite games from various categories. Of course, the game with the most vote in a particular category wins the award!

The nomination process for the video games also works similarly. The committee puts up a list of possible nominees in various categories. After this, the representatives take votes on their favourite games in said categories. Ultimately the winner in a category is chosen through a blended vote. This means that 90 per cent of the voting rights go to the various representatives. The other 10 per cent comes down to fan voting.

Thankfully, this award ceremony will be livestreamed on all major platforms. This means that you can watch it on YouTube, Twitter, Twitch, TikTok, Steam, and Facebook.
