Recently, Xiaomi India Associate Director Sandeep Sharma commented on X that the brand will now focus on quality launches, not quantity. But after using the Xiaomi REDMI 15 5G for two weeks, I am still wondering why Sandeep said that. At first glance, it appears cool, and its cloudy back finish adds an attractive appearance. However, its large body is hardly handled in one hand. I tried to hold it multiple times, but couldn’t do so for long.

Similarly, if I’m going to pay 15K rupees for this phone, I will expect an AMOLED display and fewer bezels on the screen. But this phone offers long-lasting battery life and stable performance for daily use. Let’s explore everything about the REDMI 15 5G in a detailed review.

    PROS

    • Excellent battery backup lasting nearly two days
    • Premium cloudy finish design that looks stylish
    • Smooth and lag-free performance for daily use
    • Decent camera with natural skin tones
    • Clean UI with minimal ads under HyperOS
    • Comes with 33W fast charging and reverse charging support

    CONS

    • A heavy and large body makes one-handed use difficult
    • IPS LCD instead of AMOLED at this price
    • Large bezels spoil the viewing experience
    • No HDR support for streaming
    • Camera struggles in low light and portrait edge detection
    • Takes longer to charge due to the large battery size
    Key Specs

  • Verdict

After spending two weeks with the REDMI 15 5G review, I can confidently say it’s a battery king in this price range. The overall design appears premium, and the performance is stable for daily use. You can easily scroll, stream, and multitask without lag.

However, if display quality and camera performance are most important to you, there are better AMOLED options available around ₹15,000, such as the CMF Nothing Phone 2 Pro and Realme P4. However, for those who seek a dependable phone with long battery life and a clean UI, the Redmi 15 5G is a solid everyday performer that delivers more than it promises.
