Samsung’s One UI 9 is no longer an upcoming release. Samsung began the stable rollout on September 16, 2026. It started with the Galaxy S26, S26+, and S26 Ultra. Based on Android 17, One UI 9 first debuted on the Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra, Z Fold8, and Z Flip8.
It added communication and creative features. The new Bixby became a conversational device agent for natural-language controls and real-time web answers. Perplexity is available separately as another AI agent on the Galaxy S26 series.
One UI 9 was initially tested on the Galaxy S26 before expanding to select Galaxy S25, Z Fold7, and Z Flip7 models. The stable update is now rolling out to supported devices.

Expected One UI 9 Release Timeline
One UI 9 entered public beta testing in May 2026. Samsung expanded beta testing to additional Galaxy models in September. But the stable rollout began later that month rather than July.

Samsung has confirmed the Galaxy S26 series as the initial One UI 9 beta devices. It will later expand beta testing to the Galaxy S25 series and Galaxy Z Fold7 and Z Flip7. One UI 9 debuted on the Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra, Z Fold8, and Z Flip8.

Some features were not included in Samsung’s official One UI 9 announcements. They were “Ask AI” in Samsung Internet, a digital tape for hiding text, a blue location-access icon, a universal Device Care dashboard, hinge debris alerts, and other media-player changes. These should not be treated as confirmed One UI 9 features.
