There is hardly any deviation in the design language of the Nokia 2.4 from that of the Nokia 2.3. The smartphone is still sturdy and feels super nice on the hands and much more premium for the price.
While manufacturing the Nokia 2.4, the smartphone brand has gone with the polycarbonate body with a 3D Nano textured cover at the back which offers a nice grip and even though it is not a compact phone, you won’t have any trouble while holding it. There is a circular fingerprint sensor on the rear panel.
Moving on, there is a 3.5mm headphone jack at the top frame along with a primary microphone. The volume rockers and the power button are located on the right edge and the trademark Google assistant button has been placed on the left side. The bottom side is featuring a secondary microphone, speaker grille and Micro USB 2.0.
Nokia 2.4 has a bigger 6.5-inch IPS LCD panel, featuring the same old HD+ 720P resolution and a teardrop notch. Speaking about the sub 15000 price point the inferior HD resolution is not that surprising but looking at the display contents with a fair enough distance, the smartphone display does not appear that bad. Under the direct sunlight, you will struggle to view the phone’s content.
This section has gone through a much-required update as the Nokia 2.4 comes with the Octa-core Helio P22 chipset, while as its predecessor the Nokia 2.3 featured a Quad-core Helio 822 chipset. So the user experience is going to be much better.
Although you will have a faster image processing along with other assorted actions, the 2GB RAM might result in timely stutters and lags during gaming sessions or even light multi-tasking action might be hectic some times. There is 32GB of internal storage loaded in the device, out of which 11GB memory is occupied by the system itself. So it is better to go with the 3GB RAM and 64GB internal storage variant.
Coming to the software of the Nokia 2.4, there is stock Android 10, which is also a part of the Android One programme and thus promising two years of software and up to three years of security updates.
On the rear side, you are going to get a dual-camera setup with a 13MP primary lens along with a 2MP depth sensor and on the front side, there is a single front-facing lens of 5MP. So the camera performance is more or less the same as its predecessor.
The primary sensor will capture pretty good imaged when there is ample light available. the night time images are not good at all, the images will appear hazy and rather soft or full of grains. Although there is a dedicated night mode in the camera UI, it is a complete gimmick and doesn’t improve any image quality in any way. The selfies from the front camera will appear ok when the light is good but for the most part, the subjects will appear pale and lifeless.
Coming to the videos, the Nokia 2.4 maxes out at 1080 pixels from both the front and the back cameras. Although there is a video stabilization features inside the camera settings but turns out to be a gimmick as well.
Nokia 2.4 comes with a decent 4500 mAh battery. With light to medium usage, the battery of this smartphone will last for two days at least and promises a full day heavy usage as well. Here one thing is to be kept in mind that charging via USB 2.0 will take some time and using a 10W charger, it will take you around three hours to fully refill the smartphone from 0 to 100%.
Nokia 2.4 comes with significantly superb features like a clean user interface and sleek design. But this is also the truth that there are some nominal flaws present in the device. But considering the big screen, price and battery, Nokia 2.4 is also a good option in the entry-level segment.
