Jio Bharat V2 4G Launch: On Monday, Reliance Jio introduced the Jio Bharat V2 4G phone platform, aimed at serving more than 250 million current feature phone users by offering cost-effective 4G feature phones along with affordable data plans. The Jio Bharat features a smartphone that enables internet usage, UPI payments, and access to Jio’s entertainment apps. Additionally, the 4G phone provides unlimited calls and mobile data at budget-friendly prices.
Reliance’s objective with the Jio Bharat V2 4G is to provide internet access to the current base of 250 million feature phone users, thereby empowering them. Furthermore, Reliance intends to extend the reach of the ‘Jio Bharat platform’ to other manufacturers, enabling the development of additional entry-level 4G phones. The initial brand to adopt this platform will be Karbonn.
From July 7th, The Company announces its plans to initiate beta trials for the initial batch of 1 million Jio Bharat phones. This strategic move is aimed at achieving the company’s objective of upgrading the current user base of 2G feature phones. The trial program will be conducted across 6,500 tehsils in India.

Specific details regarding the specifications of the latest Jio Bharat V2 4G phone are still not available. But the company has shared some notable features of the device. The feature of the model includes the following.
- The phone has a small screen and a physical keypad. It includes several smart functionalities.
- Also, users can utilize the JioPay app to make UPI payments.
- Additionally, the device allows users to access and enjoy movies and TV shows through the Jio Cinema app. It also allows users to access over 80 million songs through the JioSaavan app.
- The device includes basic functionalities like an FM radio and a torchlight. However, Jio has not disclosed the operating system (OS) running on the phone, leaving uncertainty about the availability of other applications like WhatsApp for download.
Recharge Plans
- The plan begins from Rs. 123 for a duration of 28 days. This recharge plans offer users unlimited voice calls along with a daily data allowance of 0.5 GB.
- Additionally, an annual plan is available at Rs 1,234, providing the same benefits of 0.5 GB per day and unlimited voice calls.
Jio Bharat V2 4G: Price & Availability
- The Price of the newly launched phone is just Rs 999.
- This 4G smart feature phone is available in two colour variants, namely Red and Blue.
- Apart from Reliance Retail, various other brands will embrace the Jio Bharat platform to introduce Jio Bharat phones.
- The beta trial phase for the initial batch of 1 million Jio Bharat phones will start on July 7th, 2023.
