Intel has announced new Core Ultra and Xeon processors for PCs and data centres. The aim is to expand its reach in the artificial intelligence (AI) market. Intel is the largest manufacturer of PC processors. The company hopes to capture an even bigger share of the fast-growing artificial intelligence hardware market.
At the AI Everywhere event, Intel revealed its new Core Ultra chips. According to the company, this is its most AI-enabled and power-efficient client processor ever.

Details About Core Ultra And Xeon Processors
According to Intel, the Core Ultra family consumes up to 79% less power when idle in Windows than previous-generation AMD chips. The company claims that it is 11% faster in multi-threaded tasks compared to competitors.
The Ultra series is based on Intel’s 7nm process and features FOVEROS 3D packaging, an advanced stacking solution that allows the company to increase performance and efficiency in a smaller footprint.

Intel says its AI capabilities will help revive growth for the company, which has suffered from previous setbacks and poor overall PC performance. But competition is fiercer than ever. Longtime rival Advanced Micro Devices Inc. has gained market share in PCs and servers, and some of Intel’s biggest customers now develop their own chips in-house.
Nvidia has become a predominant force in data centre chips with its AI accelerators at the same time. These products boosted sales and pushed NVIDIA’s valuation to more than $1.1 trillion. Analysts predict that it will overtake Intel in total revenue for the first time this year.

Intel has been the world’s largest chip maker for decades. Intel wants to get a head start by moving more AI processing to devices rather than data centres. A new ultra-core chip that does just that will be available in about 230 of his PC models from manufacturers such as ASUS, Dell, Gigabyte, Dynabook, Acer, Google Chromebook, Lenovo, LG, HP, MSI, Samsung and Microsoft Surface.
Already of Thursday According to Intel, the new chip can achieve up to 34 TeraOPS in the combined performance of its NPU, GPU and CPU in AI applications. Intel also introduced Gaudi 3, its latest AI accelerator that competes with Nvidia’s popular H100 accelerator series. Gaudi 3 is expected to be released in 2024.
