What is Valorant?
For the uninitiated, Valorant is a free-to-play first-person shooter (FPS). The game takes its fundamentals from the Counter-Strike franchise and borrows several elements from the game. However, the developers have also put their unique spin on the tactical shooter formula. The characters in the game are called Agents. Each Agent has been inspired by cultures worldwide, and each Agent is unique in terms of playing styles and abilities. Moreover, every match features five Agents in a team, with each player assigned a specific role.
Players start with a pistol and a signature ability. As the game progresses and goes through multiple rounds, you can purchase other weapons and abilities based on the rewards you get from the previous round. There are numerous game modes, but the most popular mode seems to be the Unrated mode. In this mode, there are 25 rounds and the first team to win 13 rounds wins the entire match. In total, you can choose from an assortment of 19 Agents.

When is the Valorant Mobile release date?
The talk of Valorant Mobile has been in the works for some time now. In fact, the developers talked about the game in 2021, stating that it might release sometime in 2022. The game’s pre-registration or alpha and beta tests haven’t kicked off yet either. So, if you’re eagerly waiting for Valorant Mobile, you’ll have to wait for quite a while longer. Moreover, Riot Games is now actively focussing on the global release of League of Legends: Wild Rift. Currently, there’s no news of Valorant Mobile being released for testing anytime soon.
An account on Twitter, Valorleaks, that’s known for its reliable information on Valorant. tweeted this on January 25, 2022:
Which platforms will Valorant Mobile support?
Valorant Mobile is currently being developed for Android and iOS platforms. There’s no plan of introducing cross-play either. So, if you own a PC version of Valorant and want to play with a friend who has Valorant Mobile, you won’t be able to play together. Riot Games has stated that they “don’t want to convert Valorant PC players into Valorant Mobile players or vice versa”.
However, Valorant is a slightly demanding game on PCs as well. If the developers are committed to providing a similar quality on mobile phones, there’s a good chance that older smartphones won’t be able to run the game properly. Nonetheless, since there’s no news yet on the minimum requirements for Valorant Mobile, we’ll just have to wait to find out the game’s specifications.
