According to rumors, the social media apps’ new function would now let creators make money by uploading Instagram Reels. Developer Alessandro Paluzzi was the first one to notice the latest ‘Bonuses’ feature.

    When content creators post new Reels on their accounts, they will receive ‘Bonuses.’ It’s still unclear whether the clips can be monetized right away or only when they reach a certain number of views.

    Who is eligible for this Instagram Reels bonus?

    The developer confirms in one of the screenshots that the “Bonuses” option will be available only to creators and not to normal users. The company has yet to announce the eligibility criteria, but the rumor claims that individuals with a high upload volume or high audience engagement statistics will be eligible. The screenshots also imply that the creators will earn money for each new Reel they publish.

    There would certainly be some “Bonus thresholds” that users must meet in order to make money from their Reels. The screenshots even suggest that users will be able to keep track of their earnings. The company appears to be close to releasing it, as a new “Instagram Insights” feature was just launched. Instagram Insights give Reels users a better understanding of their performance. Reels and Live Reels both have this feature.
