WhatsApp has announced several new features for WhatsApp Business at the company’s annual Conversations event in Mumbai. The company has added new payment options for WhatsApp Business users, including UPI, credit and debit card support.
WhatsApp Business Adds UPI & Credit Card Payment Options
WhatsApp users can now pay businesses in India using UPI options like Google Pay, Paytm and PhonePe. Furthermore, you can also choose debit card, credit card and NetBanking options in the app. Meta has partnered with PayU and RazorPay for the payment portal. A list of payment options will now appear when making a purchase, and you will be redirected to the respective portal to complete the payment.

This means that you have a wide range of options to choose from when purchasing from WhatsApp Business. You don’t have to visit any other website or payment portal and can seamlessly pay businesses within the app.
WhatsApp Flow Feature Coming For Businesses
The company has also announced a new Flows feature for business, which allows you to book train tickets, meals, movie tickets or appointments within WhatsApp. It will offer customizable forms and rich menus to support various business needs. Using this feature, you can seamlessly interact with any business and pay them within WhatsApp. For example, you can book your train tickets and even pay for them without leaving WhatsApp.

WhatsApp Adds Meta Verified Businesses Badge
WhatsApp is also offering businesses a verification badge to let their users know they are chatting with the right business. Businesses will need to show their authenticity to Meta to receive this badge, which will offer enhanced account support and impersonation protection.

Moreover, businesses with verified badges can create a custom WhatsApp page discoverable on web searches and get multi-device support. This way, multiple employees can handle the support and respond to customers.
The company is currently testing the Meta Verified feature with small businesses before implementing it on the WhatsApp Business platform. Furthermore, Meta says it will introduce new updates and features to improve the user experience for businesses and customers.
