As per the update, the Security and personal information protection menus have been merged, showing users the information that may be at risk. The Dashboard shows the security status and allows users to change settings and manage risks more seamlessly quickly. Lock Screen, Accounts, SmartThings Find, App Safety and Updates that significantly impact digital safety are now accessible at the top of the Dashboard. Moreover, the red, yellow or green alerts show issues and provide clear indicators in case of security issues.

Managing Ads With Ease

In recent times, online shopping has become more popular than ever. Additionally, ads and recommendations can sometimes become overwhelming with so many platforms and apps. Users who do not prefer targeted advertisements can go to the Security and Privacy Dashboard. Click the Privacy tab, then go to the Ads menu and select “Delete AD ID.” This will disable unwanted recommendations and ads.

Control Microphone And Camera Permissions

Users can now decide how much of their data a specific app uses. Gamers, for example, need to access the microphone while playing to communicate with other players. However, suppose they discover that the app can always access the device’s microphone. They can go to the Privacy menu within the Security and Privacy Dashboard to adjust their preferences. The same can be done for camera access.

Managing Location Based Services Easily

Location is one of the most widely tracked features used by several services to know users’ whereabouts. To keep a check on it, users can go to the Privacy menu within the Security and Privacy Dashboard to check what apps have tracked their location in the past 24 hours. This allows users to share their location only while using the app. Moreover, by toggling the settings based on individual preferences, the user can disable precise location tracking, allowing only approximate tracking.

Keep Your App Preferences Up To Date

Many apps on our devices lie installed and unused for an extended period. However, these apps might continue tracking the data and activity months after installing them, whether or not they are in use. To prevent these apps from accessing more data than necessary. Galaxy devices will proactively protect users’ privacy by removing permissions from unused apps. To reinstate the permissions, users can visit the Security and Privacy Dashboard.
