The handset will be a budget variant from the brand with 4G network connectivity. The XiaomiUi report revealed the details based on an IMEI database listing of the Redmi Note 12 4G.

Redmi Note 12 4G: IMEI Database
The report reveals that the database contains two variants of the upcoming 4G smartphone. The handset is codenamed “tapas.” Moreover, the smartphones that may likely launch in India and other global markets have the model numbers 23028RA60L and 23021RAAEG. These variants do not support NFC. Moreover, there’s an NFC-supported variant of Note 12 4G, which will likely launch in global markets but not in India. It has the codename topaz and comes with the model number 23021RAA2Y.
The report further reveals that the handset may have 4GB+64GB and 8GB+128GB RAM and storage options. Moreover, it will come with Android 13-based MIUI 14. However, the company has made no official announcement as of yet.
Specifications:
It is not certain if the 4G variant will carry the same specifications as the Xiaomi Redmi Note 12 5G. But if it proves to be true, then the handset will feature a 6.67-inch FHD Plus Super AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and a 240Hz touch sampling rate. The handset may offer a triple rear camera unit including a 48-megapixel primary camera. Along with an 8-megapixel ultra wide-angle sensor and a 2-megapixel macro sensor. Additionally, a 13-megapixel selfie camera is included.
Moreover, the 5G variant comes with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 4 Gen 1 chipset and packs a 5,000mAh battery. However, we are merely speculating and suggest taking the leak with a pinch of salt.
