Nothing has started rolling out a second beta update based on Android 13 to beta testers in the form of Nothing OS 1.5.1. The brand released its first beta update based on Android 13 on December 15, 2022. However, the new update didn’t prove to be useful as some apps such as the Google Pay stopped working for users since the OS had not passed Google’s Safetynet API. With the new update, the brand has fixed the previous issues and offers several new features.
Let us know more about the second beta update in the article below.
Android 13 Based Beta Update: Features
The new beta update includes the following features-
The update includes a new handcrafted glyph ringtone and notification sound pack. Moreover, it provides a new collection of minimalist wallpapers in the customization menu on the home screen. It offers lock screen shortcut customisations and makes switching between data usage while using dual SIM easy, with the improved network quick settings panel. Additionally, the update has enhanced the display auto-brightness algorithm and provides smoother animation when transitioning the display between on and off.
Moreover, the pop-up window is now back with some interaction improvements. The update has also improved the battery life along with the UI and animations of the Camera app. Additionally, the update brings increased system stability and bug fixes. Lastly, with the update, the Nothing X app will now be available in Nothing OS. Users who applied for beta testing but could not get the first update will get this new update via OTA. However, it is unclear when the stable update will arrive on the Nothing Phone 1.
