Google Search App Gets New Notes Feature: All Details

Google has introduced a new feature for its Search app, allowing users to add their own notes or see the ones others share. This experimental feature is currently available in select regions within the Google Search app. Here’s everything you need to know about it.

Google is adding a new Notes feature to the search app, allowing users to share their insights and knowledge. These notes will be related to a specific topic and publicly visible to anyone searching for it. The company claims it adds a “new later of human insights to your search results”.

According to the company, “Notes will let people share their knowledge right on Search, helping others find the best answers for their weirdest or most wonderfully unique questions, and discover what’s most useful for them on the web.”.

Google claims this new experimental feature aims to “provide access to helpful tips about an article or topic from experts and everyday people”.Furthermore, it will offer new information alongside typical search results for better insights.

After enabling the experimental feature in Labs, users will see a “Notes” button below the search results in the Google app and articles on Discover.

It Will Be Initially Available In India And US

Clicking on this button will allow you to create your own notes with others and see the ones shared by others. These notes are customizable with elements such as text, stickers and photos to add your visual flair.

Moreover, Google claims that US users can add their own AI-generated images to the notes. Notes will be available for Search app users in the US and India. It is also working with publishers to find new ways of adding insights from Notes to their content.

Google claims it has developed a combination of algorithm and human moderation to ensure all community-shared notes are helpful, safe and relevant. It promises to protect users against harmful and abusive content.

Notes will be available in the Google Search app for iOS and Android. Users can add notes in English in the US and Hindi and English in India.
