Android’s is now rolling out the Android 15 update for the eligible Google Pixel devices, like smartphones and tablets. Presently, this major OS upgrade is available for Pixel Tablet and Pixel Fold as well. However, the Google Pixel 9 Pro and Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold are not in the list.

The new feature with this update is AI-backed Theft Detection Lock, which will automatically lock the phone if it detects someone snatches the phone and tries to escape. If a SIM card is removed from a Pixel phone running Android 15, the device will immediately request authentication. If the correct authentication is not provided, the phone will automatically lock itself, becoming unusable.
The Android 15 update for Pixel phones also brings enhanced app management features, such as the introduction of Private Space. This feature, long available on custom interfaces like OneUI, allows users to hide specific apps from the app drawer, making them accessible only after authentication. It also includes enhanced camera capabilities like Low Light Boost and in-app camera controls. It also brings improved network functionality with satellite connectivity for messaging on select models, and a seamless one-tap app login using Passkey for quicker access.
