How To find Signal Strength on iPhone
Just follow these simple steps to find the signal strength on your iPhone easily.
- Open the Phone app on your iPhone. Now, go to the dial pad.
- Dial *3001#12345#* and then click on the call option.
- You will now enter the hidden Field Test Mode on your iPhone. On the top-right corner, you will see a Menu icon. Tap on it.
- On the next screen, under the RAT section, tap on the Cell Info.
- Now, on the next screen, find the RSRP cell. The number next to it is your signal strength.
Note: The dashboard or the Field Test Interface may look different on different iOS.
What is RSRP?
It’s possible that you might not have an idea about RSRP. In terms of radio signals, RSRP stands for Reference Signal Received Power, and it is displayed as a negative number between -80 to -100.
An RSRP of -80 is said to be excellent. If you are getting this number, this means your iPhone is showing excellent signal strength. RSRP between -80 to -91 is said to be good, while -91 to -100 is considered as a poor signal. If your iPhone is showing -100, this means there is no signal.
If you constantly get RSRP between -91 to -100, this means it’s high time you switch to any better network carrier.
Effective Ways to Boost Your iPhone Signal Strength
Here are some ways that can help you boost your iPhone’s signal strength.
1. Use Airplane Mode
Rebooting the device is what we think of when fixing any tech. In case of signal strength, you can just use the Airplane mode. Switch on and off the Airplane mode to re-establish the connection to the network, thus boosting the strength.
2. Try Cell Signal Booster
If you are facing a poor signal constantly, you can try the iPhone cell signal booster. A booster will work in any location and will amplify the existing signal strength. Also, boosters are easy to use and install but can be a bit pricey.
3. Update the iOS
Lastly, you must check if your iPhone is up to date or not. Check the Software Update section in Settings to see if it is demanding any update. If yes, just do it. It might take a few seconds, but once done, you will be able to experience a better network connection.
