Launched in mid-2020 Realme Watch 2 is the successor to the Realme watch which was released in early 2020. The Realme Watch 2 has a rectangular case with plenty of bezel around the screen. It is slightly chunky with 12.2 mm thickness and also a little heavier with a weight of around 38g. The display has a screen size of about 1.4 inches and a resolution of 320 X 320. The colours on the display are a little bit sharper and brighter as well as visibility has improved in outdoor conditions compared to the older Realme watch.
With Realme Watch 2 you get a blood oxygen sensor, heart rate monitor as well as sleep monitor. There are 14 inbuilt sports modes in the original Realme watch while the new Watch 2 includes up to 90 sports modes including rugby, wrestling, and disc sports. Launched at the end of 2020, the Realme Watch S is a minor upgrade to the original Realme Watch. The old clunky square casing has been ditched in favour of a bigger aluminum case with a 1.3-inch LCD display. There is also a Gorilla Glass 3 protection on top and you get a peak brightness of about 600 nits which is pretty good to read your notification outdoors. One of the downsides of that LCD display is the blacks are not well hidden as we see in the OLED displays. Also, there is no always-on display which we see in the newer Realme Watch 2 Pro.
There are two physical buttons on the right side of the watch. The first one is mapped to the app drawer while the second one takes you to your workout modes. For your fitness activity Realme has added a typical 3-axis accelerometer to track steps as well as assist in sleep monitoring. There is no built-in GPS so that is one of the downsides. The watch has continuous heart rate monitoring as well as a SpO2 sensor which can be pretty useful in this pandemic. Overall the watch offers a good enough collection of workout modes with detailed data such as calories burnt, workout duration, and heart rate. The watch is available to buy for a price tag of Rs. 4,599.
