The best way to manage your screen time like a pro is to set up limits for the most used applications. Google has recently introduced a new feature named “Digital Wellbeing.” This is compatible with smartphones running on Android Pie and upwards. Using this feature, you can easily restrict your certain app usage.

Popular brands like Samsung, Realme, and Redmi are running Android Pie and other above versions and most of the new smartphone users won’t face a problem in getting this feature. And even if the feature i not available you can download it from the Google Play Store.

Download Digital Wellbeing from Google Play Store

To access this feature you need to:

  1. Go to the Settings of your phone first, look for “Digital Wellbeing” section and select it.
  2. Now, choose a timer for each app as per your wish (from 5 minutes to 24hrs.) When you exceed your previously set time limit, your access to the app automatically gets restricted. But that doesn’t mean you won’t be able to use it again. Yes, you can change your set limit whenever you want.

Note: Even iPhone users can also avail of this screen timer limit as iOS devices also allow setting a per-app time limit.

Here comes the biggest ‘No-No’ of the tech world- you can’t take technology to your bed. Most of us are habituated to using phones, laptops, tablets before bedtime. Doing so impacts our health tremendously. The artificial light especially blue light emitted from our phone or laptop’s screen is extremely harmful to our sleep quality. Method 5: Consider Some Off-Screen Hobbies

involving in off screen hobbiescan help reduce smartphone addiction.

Why not use off-screen hobbies when you wish to manage the screen time on a mobile phone like a pro. All you need to do is just consider any of your hobbies. For example, if you are fond of playing the guitar, then learn something new every day.

When you start using it regularly, it will not only polish your skills, but you will be able to manage the screen time on the mobile phone as well. There will be no need for you to keep your phone with you every time. You can simply take your guitar and play it. Not only guitar, if you are fond of any other hobby like singing, dancing, or anything, then also you can engage in it and cut out the screen time.

This totally depends on where you wish to keep it.

If you are at the place where your mobile is right in front, you cannot stop yourself from using it. Hence, to cut it out, all you need to do is just keep it out of your sight. The more you keep it out of your sight, the longer you will be able to manage the screen time.

This DND mode will not provoke you to use your phone anymore. All you need to do is just turn on the DND, and all the notifications will be silent after it. You can still read all the notifications next time when you use your device. Make sure you are keeping yourself occupied with some other stuff so that there will be no urge to use your phone.
