WhatsApp is currently serving more than 2 billion users and counting. One thing that WhatsApp lacks is the multi-device support since users can actually use their WhatsApp account registered to a specific phone number on only one device at a time. But citing a report by WABetaInfo, WhatsApp is working on a new multi-support feature that’ll allow users to access their WhatsApp account on multiple devices.

The nearest we are to using WhatsApp on two devices is by mirroring it on the PC via WhatsApp Web. Based on one latest report by WABetaInfo, the company is internally testing the feature. Although this doesn’t mean you will be able to access the multi-support feature right away, however, this does mean that such a feature is in development, and folks are pretty positive that the feature will roll out on the app as well.

This comes after WhatsApp confirmed that it will be extending support to iPad OS with a WhatsApp client for the Apple devices which means Apple users can use two WhatsApp accounts simultaneously.

With that being said, given WhatsApp’s reputation of taking just too long time to roll out a feature such as Dark Mode arrived a year later after it was teased, we can expect the multi-device support on WhatsApp in coming months if not weeks.

WhatsApp has already rolled out a lot of features such as voice and video calls, it is also rolling out an updated group chat feature that would allow up to 8 participants instead of four. It also supports payments in many regions. Users can send photos, videos, GIFs and stickers, documents, and more all while staying in the app. There’s also a status feature that uses Snapchat’s way of self-destruction in 24 hours along with others.
