WhatsApp is reportedly working on a new interface for WhatsApp voice calls. The platform always aims to enhance its experience with new features all the time. Recently, the messaging platform had launched a feature that allowed users to hear voice notes in the background. Now, it has redesigned the interface for voice calls as well.
Development tracker WABetaInfo, voice calling would have a new interface when placing WhatsApp voice calls. References for the design change already shows up in the previous beta updates for iOS and Android users. WABetaInfo reports that version 22.5.0.70 has a new interface when placing voice calls. Currently, this redesign is rolling out to a few beta testers.

Right now, this new feature is available only for iOS users who use the beta version of the app. As per reports, users will now witness a new interface while they place WhatsApp voice calls on the app. Additionally, WhatsApp is improving its interface for group calls.
Moreover, the new WhatsApp voice calls interface would come with a round grey square in the front and centre. It will also house the contact name, number, and profile picture. It is now planning to bring real-time voice waveforms to calls as well. This will also allow the caller to be able to know exactly who’s talking or who shouldn’t leave their microphone on.

“WhatsApp has redesigned the interface when you’re in a group call. A similar redesign is also available when you place a simple voice call, as announced in a previous article when the feature was under development. If the new interface is enabled, people can also see real-time voice waveforms. In addition, the redesign includes a wallpaper voice call, that cannot be edited at the moment,” it added.

Meanwhile, WhatsApp is also working towards releasing the ‘Community’ feature in a future update. Community is a private place where group admins will have more control over some groups on WhatsApp. The report said that WhatsApp Community is like a group chat and group admins are able to link other groups in the Community.
