WhatsApp Group Chat History Feature Rolled Out: See Old Messages Even If You Are A New Joinee
WhatsApp has introduced the Group Chat History feature, allowing new members to view recent messages sent before they joined a group.
Earlier, this feature was absent from WhatsApp, and anyone who had joined the group on, let’s say 1st March could not see the messages of 28th February. But with this new update, they can see those messages.
This update helps users quickly catch up on context without asking others to forward chats. Group admins can choose whether to share past messages when adding a new member.
How To Use This Feature?
The steps to enable WhatsApp group chat history are simple:
- Go to your group chats.
- Select ‘add new person/contact to the group’.
- When adding someone to a group, select the option to share recent chat history.
- The new member will see older messages clearly marked as previous conversations.
