Vodafone Idea (Vi) users in key cities such as Delhi-NCR, Mumbai, and Pune faced a network outage in the early hours of Friday, April 18. Vodafone Idea Outage: What Did The Company Say?
A statement by Vodafone Idea spokesperson says, “Our network services in the NCR were temporarily affected during the early hours of Friday due to a technical issue. The issue is now over, and all services are working perfectly well.”

The Vodafone Idea outage was initially reported just after 12:30 am, with peak reports coming in at 1:01 am, according to Downdetector, a service that monitors real-time disruptions. During the peak, the platform recorded more than 1,940 user reports, most of which mentioned a total network blackout or no signal.
How Did It Affect The Users?
According to Downdetector data, the cities most impacted by the Vodafone Idea outage were New Delhi, Gurgaon, Faridabad, Noida, Ghaziabad, Mumbai, and Pune. A breakdown of user complaints revealed the folllowing:
- 71% experienced “no signal,”
- 21% faced a “total blackout,”
- 9% reported issues with mobile internet.
Expressing regret for the disruption, the Vi spokesperson stated, “We deeply apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused and appreciate our users’ patience and understanding.”
