Samsung is said to be preparing for a mid-July Unpacked event where it will unveil its seventh-generation foldables: the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7, Samsung Galaxy Flip 7, and Samsung Galaxy Flip 7 FE. The company has already started teasing the book-style Fold 7 as its slimmest and most sophisticated foldable device to date. In a recent update, the phone has appeared on the FCC certification platform. This reveals information about the chipset of the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7. So, here is everything you need to know.
Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 Chipset Details
The listing reveals that the Galaxy Z Fold 7 will arrive with the SM8750 chipset, which aligns with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite.

This chip offers a substantial performance improvement over the previous Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6, which was powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. Additionally, the new chipset is much more power-efficient. It’s important to highlight that FCC certification pertains specifically to the U.S. market, meaning it only applies to the variant available there. While the FCC confirms a Snapdragon-powered Fold 7 for the U.S., it doesn’t eliminate the chance of the Exynos 2500 in other regions.
Other Rumoured Specifications
Along with the chipset details, we have more details on the other specs of Galaxy Z Fold 7. It is expected to keep the same 4,400 mAh battery as its predecessor. It will run on One UI 8, based on Android 16 (as confirmed by Geekbench), which is still in the early stages of development. As a result, users shouldn’t anticipate fully optimized performance or battery life in the initial months following its release. The FCC listing also confirms support for 5G, Ultra-Wideband (UWB), and Wi-Fi 7, ensuring premium connectivity. Additionally, wireless charging and reverse wireless charging will be available with the Galaxy Z Fold 7. However, we need to stay tuned for more updates.
