Samsung is one of the most sought after brands when it comes to smartphones and smartwatches in India. The Samsung Galaxy A and Galaxy M series of smartphones in the country are a massive hit in the budget to mid-ranger segment. Sadly, devices belonging to these two lineups by Samsung have been facing some issues lately.

SamMobile has reported that the Galaxy A and M series of smartphones in India are facing auto-restart issues. Basically, to put it simply, devices falling under these two lineups are automatically booting at times. However, this is not an issue faced by all owners of these devices. But, it has indeed been reported by many users in the country.

Further, according to the report by SamMobile, the devices that have been facing this issue are the Samsung Galaxy A50, Samsung Galaxy A50s, Samsung Galaxy A51, Samsung Galaxy M30s, Samsung Galaxy M31 and the Samsung Galaxy M31s. Going by what users have been reporting lately, the smartphones all of a sudden freeze up. Then, they automatically restart right afterwards. The problem is that this is not a rare occurrence anymore and occurs frequently.

Additionally, certain users have also been facing issues with boot loops. A boot loop is basically when an electronic device, such as a smartphone, laptop or a desktop, gets stuck in a loop of restarting again and again. This boot loop is never ending and some users have reported their smartphones getting stuck at the Samsung logo and not going any further than that. This could most probably be a manufacturing defect that has been affecting certain Samsung Galaxy A and M series models that are being sold in India.

Going by the Samsung India official forum posts, quite a couple of Samsung Galaxy M and A series devices have been facing this issue. However, unfortunately, the root cause of this particular auto-restart issue is under wraps for now. 91Mobiles has rightfully noticed that there is a common element in all these devices that are facing this particular issue. Either the Samsung Exynos 9610 or the Exynos 9611 chipsets are powering these devices.

Although it is unlikely that the chipset has anything to do with it but, one can never say. There is most likely some sort of a hardware failure that is causing this issue to surface. However, Samsung is pretty quite about this, at least for now. We are definitely looking forward to what the company has to say about this Samsung Galaxy A and M series auto-restart issue.

Sadly, Samsung service centres are charging a pretty hefty amount to repair these affected devices. The price of repairing these devices is in between Rs. 5,000 to Rs. 6,000. The main reason why this is agitating customers is the fact that they are paying for something that is not their doing. It is something that can regarded as a ‘defect’ of sorts in the devices. Hopefully, Samsung will look into this as soon as possible and come up with a fix.
