The OPPO Reno7 5G series debuted in India in February as the OPPO Reno6 Pro 5G lineup’s successors. Rumors suggests that the company is working on a successor, the Reno 8. It expects to debut in China next month. According to noted tipster the Reno 8 will be the first to ship with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen1 chipset, which will be the chipmaker’s latest 7-series chipset, sitting just below the Snapdragon 8 Gen1 SoC.

According to reports, the Reno 8 series may also include models with a high-end MediaTek Dimensity chipset paired with a MariSilicon X ISP. The source also revealed some key details about one of the series’ models, the PGAM10. However, the precise name is still to come out.
OPPO Reno 8 Specifications
The PGAM10 will have a 6.55-inch OLED display with a punch-hole cutout and a refresh rate of 120Hz according to reports. The Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 processor will power it, along with LPDDR5 RAM and UFS 3.1 storage. Smartphone features a 4,500mAh battery and supports 80W fast charging. The charging solution may be similar to that seen on the OnePlus 10 Pro.

In terms of optics, the Reno 8 series will feature three cameras on the back, including a 50-megapixel primary Sony IMX766 sensor, an 8-megapixel ultra-wide sensor, and a 2-megapixel third sensor. It is said to have a 32-megapixel front-facing camera for video chats and selfies. For security, it will include an in-display fingerprint sensor.
According to reports, the Snapdragon 7 Gen1 chipset will include four Cortex-A710 and four A510 cores. It omits the Snapdragon 8 Gen1 SoC’s X2 core. For graphics, it is to come with next-generation Adreno GPU.
The MediaTek chipsets that will power the Reno 8 series models are not yet known, but we can speculate that they will be the Dimensity 8000/8100 because they are the closest to the Snapdragon counterpart. The aforementioned chipsets make use of the older A78 and A55 cores, as well as a new Mali-G610 GPU.
