After reportedly being leaked in schematics, reports claim Apple iPhone 14 Pro and Apple iPhone 14 Pro Max. It will have USB 3.0-capable Lightning connections. However, those anticipating that Apple might adopt the universal USB Type-C standard for future iPhones, as it did for specific high-end iPad models, maybe disappointing if this information proves correct. Also widely rumoured, Apple is considering ditching the USB connector and going wireless for upcoming iPhone models.
According to iDropNews, Apple developers are working on improving the Lightning connection on existing iPhones to USB 3.0 speed (5Gbps) for the 14 Pro and Pro Max. However, according to the same source, the iPhone 14 Pro included a USB Type-C connector last year, suggesting a shift in strategy or a misinterpretation of its development pace.

Third-party accessory makers earn a lot of money off of Apple’s Lightning connection licencing programme, according to the research. This may be the essential factor keeping Apple from adopting a universal USB standard for iPhones soon.
Higher performance, on the other hand, is in demand. Apple’s iPad Pro series now uses USB Type-C, and the iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max have up to 1TB of storage, so speedier data transfers are welcome. However, sources claim it will take at least another two generations for Apple to realise its goal of a portless phone that uses future versions of the MagSafe accessory standard to wirelessly carry data at fast rates.

According to the source, the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Max are likely to be more inexpensive. However, it May or may not include the same high-speed lightning connection as the more expensive Pro models.
