Google has launched a new mode for Google Maps named “Immersive View” in today’s Google I/O event. Using the new Immersive View, you can get a sense of a neighbourhood from the sky, and then dive down to the street level to find the places you want to visit. Maps add real-time traffic and activity data to give you an augmented reality experience in any park, street corner, or beach location you choose.

Google Maps gets Immersive View mode
Immersive View relies on a combination of Google’s satellite imagery and Street View imagery to create the final images. You’ll feel as though you’re in a realistically scaled video game as you travel through them.
According to Reid, a VP of engineering at Google, Immersive View is currently only available in San Francisco, New York, Los Angeles, Tokyo, and London. There will be more in the near future.
As it continues to make Maps a more active, 3D experience, it is also extending some of that experience to the app ecosystem. Third-party developers now have access to Google Maps’ Live View AR functionality, which allows them super-accurate real-world location tracking and an AR layer on top of that.

Google Assistant New Feature
With the new “look and talk” feature of Google Assistant, you can just look at a gadget and start talking. For faster results, the technology will use face and voice matching in real-time without the need to activate Google Assistant first.
Face and audio info will also remain on the user’s device, safe and secure, thanks to this feature. Six separate machine learning models run this, and it’s meant to work well with individuals of all skin tones.
‘Quick Phrases,’ a new feature coming to Pixel and Next smartphones, will enable you to do more than just turn lights on and off.
