Fossil Gen 6 Smartwatch Launched in India with Snapdragon Wear 4100+ SoC

The Fossil Gen 6 smartwatch has launched on September 22. The new smartwatch will come preloaded with Google’s Wear OS 2 software, but Fossil promises that it will be upgradeable to Wear OS 3 software in 2022. The Qualcomm Snapdragon Wear 4100+ SoC powers the Fossil Gen 6 smartwatch, which comes in 42mm and 44mm dial sizes. This would be the first time Fossil’s product will be launching simultaneously in India and other markets, according to the company. The Fossil Gen 6 range was announced in the United States in late August.

Fossil Gen 6 Price in India

The Fossil Gen 6 smartwatch costs between Rs. 23,995 and Rs. 24,995 in India. As previously stated, the Fossil smartwatch is available in two sizes: 42mm dial and 44mm dial. Starting September 27, the wearable will be available for purchase on Fossil’s official websiteAmazon, and in select retail outlets.

Starting September 25, users may pre-order the Fossil Gen 6 smartwatch on the official website. It will be available in four different colour options for the 44mm dial and three different colour options for the 42mm dial.

Specifications and Features

It has a circular dial in two sizes, 42mm and 44mm, with a 1.28-inch (416×416 pixels) colour AMOLED display with a 326ppi pixel density. As previously said, it currently runs Wear OS 2; although Fossil has stated that it will be upgradeable to Wear OS 3 in 2022. It has a Snapdragon Wear 4100+ SoC with 1GB of RAM and 8GB of storage under the hood. Users may also customise the functionalities of the buttons and dials on the Fossil Gen 6. In addition, the smartwatch comes in seven different styles with interchangeable belts.

The Fossil Gen 6 is a smartwatch that has health-monitoring capabilities such as an enhanced heart rate monitoring sensor that provides “continuous tracking and improved signal accuracy” and a fresh blood oxygen monitoring (SpO2) sensor. An accelerometer, gyroscope, compass, altimeter, off-body IR, and ambient light sensor are among the other sensors.

Bluetooth v5 LE, Wi-Fi, GPS, and NFC SE are among the connectivity options on the Fossil Gen 6. The smartwatch is charged by a 4 pin USB connector with a magnetic puck that allows for fast charging. It can receive and make calls when connected to a smartphone and is compatible with both Android and iOS devices.

The Fossil Gen 6 claims to have a battery life of more than 24 hours or multiple days when used in the Extended Battery Mode. Users can charge the smartwatch up to 80% in less than half an hour, according to Fossil. The smartwatch is also 3ATM (30 metres) water-resistant.
