Motorola Nio Tipped to Come With Snapdragon 865 SoC

After returning to the flagship market with Motorola Edge Plus, it is readying itself for another. It is working on a high-end premium smartphone which could be Motorola Nio. In addition, it carries model number XT2125 and codename ‘Nio’. This development comes from a German publication. Moreover, it states the phone will power on the Snapdragon 865 SoC similar to its Edge+.

It will sport an FHD+ display with 1,080 × 2,520 pixels resolution and a 90Hz refresh rate. The report states that it may be the first Motorola phone to run Android 11 out of the box. However, the size of the display is unclear.

Motorola Nio may come in an 8GB + 128GB storage configuration as well as a 12GB + 256GB storage model. However, the report points out that the latter is not confirmed.

In terms of optics, it can come with a triple rear camera setup that includes a 64-MP OmniVision OV64B primary sensor. It will also have a 16-MP sensor with an ultra-wide-angle lens with the name OV16A10, as well as a 2-MP depth sensor that carries the name OV02B1B. On the other hand, Motorola Nio can come with a hole-punch cutout design that houses two cameras, a 16-MP sensor (OV16A1Q), and an 8-MP sensor from Samsung (S5K4H7).

The smartphone is to launch in Q1 2021, according to reports. However, it is a mystery whether it will debut as a successor to the Motorola Edge+
