How to Record Screen on OnePlus and Samsung Devices

OnePlus has introduced a screen recording feature with OnePlus 7 Pro and can be used as follows:

How to Record Screen on any Samsung Android Device
  • To start off, you will need to add the Screen Recorder option to the Quick Settings Menu, click on the pencil icon to the end of the Quick Settings panel to edit the arrangement and then drag the Screen Recorder button to a location of your choice.
  • Then click on the Screen Recorder toggle in the Quick Settings to get started
  • Once the Screen Recording pop up is toggled you can tap on the red record button to begin the recording of your screen
  • There will be a gear icon that opens the settings of the recording and here you can set the resolution, video orientation and audio source of the recording.

How to Record Screen on Xiaomi Devices

Most Xiaomi Smartphones come with a Xiaomi’s pre-installed MIUI screen recorder app.

  • You can find the screen recorder in the tools folder either in the home page or the app drawer based on your arrangement
  • Open the application and tap on the gear icon to the top right corner to set or change the settings like video resolution, quality, and orientation among other options.
  • Now go back and tap on the red record button to the bottom right, then select the start option to begin the recording of your screen.

How to Record Screen on Huawei and Honor Devices

  • Huawei and Honor have built-in screen recording feature in their EMUI software
  • You will find a screen recording toggle in the Quick Settings menu similar to the case of OnePlus
  • You can also enable screen recording easily by pressing and holding the power button and the volume key simultaneously
  • Repeat either of the above steps to end the screen recording and to store it on the device

Recording Game Play using Google Play Games app

  • On smartphones that don’t support in build screen recording feature, you can use Google Play Games to record your gameplay.
  • Start off by downloading and Signing in to Play Games if you don’t have it on your device yet
  • Locate the game that you want to record and then tap on the video camera icon to the top
  • Change the recording settings to your needs and then tap on the launch to begin game recording. While this is mainly built to record gameplay, you can record anything by quitting the gameplay once the screen recording options are on your screen

Third-Party Apps for Recording Screen on Android

While Google Play Games provides a quick workaround to get native screen recording on your Android device, instead of going through the additional steps, you can use a third-party app instead and there are a lot of options on the Google Play Store such as the AZ Screen Recorder

How to Record Screen on any Android Device third party software

  • Download the app from the Google Play Store.
  • The application will seek permission for screen overlay and this will result in the screen recorder floating head on the screen all the time
  • You can fine-tune the setting by tapping on the gear icon to before the recording
  • To start the recording tap on the red video camera button
  • You can easily end the recording by pulling down on the notification shade and by pressing the stop button in the notification.

Screen recording can also be a better option than taking a Screenshot in some cases, also applications like Snapchat generally do not detect a screen recording to alert the sender unlike in the case of a screenshot making it a better option.
