Deleting Telegram account on your phone:
Step 1:
Go to the Telegram app on your mobile phone and select ‘Settings’.
Step 2:
Select ‘Privacy and Security.
Step 3:
Next, follow down to the ‘If Away for’ to automatically delete your account.
Step 4:
Now, you may select the time duration after which your Telegram account will be deactivated forever. You can choose out of 1, 3, 6 or 12 months. (as a default setting, Telegram goes by 6 months).
Step 5:
At last, if you do not happen to use your Telegram account/app for the selected time duration, the app will permanently delete your account (along with messages and contacts) on your Android or iPhone.

Deleting a Telegram account permanently on your Web Browser:
This method is quicker and does not involve an extra step of deactivating your Telegram account, unlike the one stated above. Follow these steps-
Step 1:
Search for ‘Telegram Deactivation’ via any web browser using your computer or mobile browser.
Step 2:
Enter the registered phone number using which your Telegram account was created for the first time.
Step 3:
Now, you will get an OTP on the Telegram mobile app. Enter the same (within the next few minutes) to sign in to your Telegram account through the browser.
Step 4:
Out of the ‘Telegram Core’ section, choose the ‘Delete Account option’. You will be asked to fill in a reason for deleting your Telegram account.
Step 5:
Lastly, Click on the prompt option, ‘Yes, delete my account’ to permanently delete your Telegram Account.
