Vivo Y12s
Vivo has successfully established itself as one of the top manufacturers when it comes to the entry-level, mid-range and budget phone segment in India. The latest Vivo Y12s belongs to the Y-Series from Vivo and has been launched for catering the affordable section. Since the competition is high in this section, the brands are on their toes for providing the best possible specs at minimum cost. So, it is interesting to see what Vivo Y12s has to offer apart from its hug battery and swift design.
Vivo Y12s Price in India
Vivo has gained a good reputation in the Indian smartphone market by launching a few solid budget devices. But there are few smartphones in the entry-level section in which Vivo has not done anything great. Same is the case with Vivo Y12s. Vivo Y12s specifications don’t make this the best option and considering the expected Vivo Y12s price in India for the 3GB RAM options, which is Rs.9,990, it doesn’t have much to rely upon. You can buy Vivo Y12s in two colours, Phantom Black and Glacier Blue.

There is a gradient back panel, made of glass and the device is measuring 164.41mm in length, 76.32mm in width, 8.41mm in thickness and the overall weight is 191 grams. Vivo Y12s is designed with a rounded plastic frame, which makes this smartphone secure and comfortable to hold. On the front side, Vivo Y12s is fully covered by the HD+ display, featuring a V-shaped notch at the top.
On the rear side, Vivo Y12s is mounted with a dual-camera setup, which is placed on the top left side and there is no fingerprint sensor on the back panel. So the rear panel appears neat and clean. Instead, the fingerprint sensor has been placed on the right side on top of the power button along with the volume rocker. The left side has got the space for the SIM tray and the bottom side comes with the USB 2.0, a 3.5mm headphone jack and speaker grille.
Vivo Y12s is one of the nice looking smartphones available in the Indian smartphone market at an entry-level price tag.
Vivo Y12s comes with a 6.51-inch Halo FullViewTM display, featuring a resolution of 720 1520 pixels. The HD+ display comes with a thick chin along with slim bezels around the screen. Also, the smartphone display is capable of filtering out the harmful blue light for preventing eye strain.
It would have been much better to include a 1080 pixel resolution display in the Vivo Y12s, but Vivo has gone with the 720-pixel display instead, which could be the deal-breaker for many users.
Vivo Y12s develops its power from the MediaTek Helio P35 chipset clubbed with 3GB/4GB RAM and 32GB /128GB internal storage. For optimizing core scenes to reduce stuttering and lag in games, Vivo Y12s comes with the Multi-Turbo 3.0. It is also there to prioritise and allocate the CPU and internal storage resources when there are too many applications running simultaneously in the background.
As for connectivity, Vivo Y12s supports 4G networks on both SIM cards. On the software front, Vivo Y12s runs on the Funtouch OS 11, which is good enough to provide a user-friendly interface.
In this section, Vivo Y12s packs a dual-camera setup on the rear, which features a 13MP primary sensor with an aperture of f/2.2 and a 2MP secondary sensor with an aperture of f/2.4. Also, there is a flashlight provided on the rear for managing the low lighting conditions. On the front, there is an 8MP selfie camera with an aperture of f/1.8.
In general, if you are particularly looking for a camera phone, Vivo Y12s is not recommended for you, but that doesn’t mean the photography experience on this smartphone is dull. If the lighting conditions are good, this camera setup is capable of capturing decent shots, but in low lighting conditions, the picture quality deteriorates.
Vivo Y12s boasts a 5000 mAh non-removable battery, supported by the AI power-saving technology for ensuring plenty of everyday life. As per the company, the battery is sufficient to offer up to 16.3 hours of online HD movie streaming, or 8.9 hours of resource-intensive gameplay. It is also engineered with 5V/1A reverse charging, so you can use this smartphone to charge other devices, like a mobile power bank. The only thing that is missing here is the fast charging. So, it will take around three hours to fully charge the Vivo Y12s. Furthermore, there is a USB 2.0 charging port, which is an outdated spec nowadays.
There are more cons than pros in the Vivo Y12s. The only two specs that are in favour of this smartphone is the battery and the chipset. Rest of the specs like a meagre camera setup, insufficient storage, average display and normal charging speed doesn’t make this smartphone to be recommended at all.
