The Vivo V19 and the POCO F2 Pro are one of the most exciting smartphones then went official recently. With one being a mid-range segment competitor and the other being a flagship device, we thought that it would be interesting to see how the two compare with each other.

Pricing

The Vivo V19 launch price in India is set at Rs. 27,990 and Rs. 31,990 for the 8GB + 128GB and 8GB + 256GB variant respectively. On the other hand, the POCO F2 launch price starts at a hefty €499 for the 6GB+128GB variant whereas the 8GB+256GB variant is priced at €599.

Design

Like we have seen in previous Vivo smartphones, the Vivo V19 too flaunts a stunning and glossy back design. With a comfortable curved glass back accompanied by a polished gradient finish, the device comes with a familiar rectangular camera module setup protruding at the top-left corner. The device is available in Mystic/Sleek Silver and Piano/Gleam Black colour options.

The POCO F2 Pro, on the other hand, gets a similar gradient finish at the back but with a circular camera module placed in the center. The back design is pretty similar to the one we found on the POCO X2. It also gets Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection on both front and back. The smartphone is available in Neon Blue, Phantom White, Electric Purple and Cyber Grey colour options

The POCO F2 Pro packs a similar 6.67” FHD+ AMOLED display with a resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels. The device gets a pop-up selfie camera instead of the modern punch-hole camera system. But this leads to an impressive 92.7% screen-to-body ratio. With Corning Gorilla Glass 5 and HDR10+ certification, the panel also gets a 180Hz Touch Sampling rate.

Performance and Software

The Vivo V19 stands far behind the POCO F2 Pro when it comes to performance as it gets a less powerful Snapdragon 712 chipset as compared to the mighty Snapdragon 865 chipset present on the POCO F2 Pro.

The SD 712 on the Vivo V19 is paired with 8GB of RAM and 128/256GB of UFS 2.1 expandable storage. For graphics, we have the Adreno 616 GPU under the hood. The Vivo V19 gets Funtouch 10.0 which runs on Android 10 out-of-the-box.

The SD 865 on the POCO F2 Pro gets paired with a 6GB LPDDR4X or 8GB LPDDR5 RAM along with 128/256GB of UFS 3.1 storage. The device runs on the latest version of Android 10 along with POCO launcher 2.0 on top.

The POCO F2 Pro gets Bluetooth 5.1, GPS, Wi-Fi 802.11, 3.5mm audio jack, in-display fingerprint scanner, IR blaster, NFC support, accelerometer, gyro, proximity and compass as the connectivity options and sensors.

Final Decision

By looking at the spec-sheet, the POCO F2 Pro is a clear winner. The Snapdragon 865 is way more powerful than the Snapdragon 712 and the UFS 3.1 storage along with LPDDR5 RAM come as an icing on the cake. The camera system also looks way better on the POCO F2 Pro, thanks to the Sony IMX686 64MP main sensor. More connectivity options such as NFC and IR blaster are often a plus point. The battery capacity too is at the heavier side on the POCO F2 Pro.

But when it comes to price, the POCO F2 Pro starting at €499 (approx. Rs. 41,000), is way costlier than the Vivo V19 which starts at Rs. 27,990. Although there are quite important differences between the two, it is the real-life usage which can justify the higher price tag of the POCO F2 Pro. So, stay tuned for a complete and detailed review of both the devices by our Cashify experts, which will be live soon.
