Vivo just announced the NEX 3S 5G. It is the successor to the NEX 3, although it’s more of a subtle upgrade instead of a completely new phone. This is why it is called just the NEX 3S and not the NEX 4.
The most interesting upgrade is inside. The NEX 3S 5G has been supplied with a Snapdragon 865 chipset. The highlight is its 5G-capable Snapdragon X55 modem.
The memory has also been improved. It is now LPDDR5 in place of LPDDR4X. This is a 29% increase in bandwidth. Storage inside has also been upgraded to 256GB and is of the UFS 3.1 kind, which offers better performance than UFS 3.0-powered smartphones.
On the display front, there is no change in the size. But the 6.89-inch FHD+ Super AMOLED screen does support HDR10+ instead of just HDR10.
The camera housing is also the same over the NEX 3. There’s a 64MP main unit with f/1.8 aperture, 13MP f/2.5 telephoto and a 13MP ultrawide with f/2.2 lens. The selfie camera is pop-up, with a lens of 16MP along with an LED flash.
The 4,500 mAh battery supports Vivo’s 44W fast charging. This means you don’t have to wait too long for the phone to juice right up. Vivo has also offered a new Orange colour variant. This is in addition to the already existing Black and Blue.
