It’s Tecno’s trademark to include high-end features in entry-level smartphones in order to surprise and delight customers and gain market share in a highly competitive industry. A new Tecno smartphone, the Tecno Pop 5, has been introduced to the worldwide market, competing with other manufacturers in the same price range thanks to its huge battery and a slew of additional features. Tecno Pop 5 Price in India

Nigerians would have to pay 35,000 Naira ($85) for the Tecno Pop 5, which is equivalent to around 500 Ghana cedis and 9,300 Kenyan shillings. It is available in Obsidian Black, Cosmic Glow, and Ice Blue. There is no information about the Indian launch yet.

Tecno Pop 5 Design

The story is simple here. The Tecno Pop 5 is an entry-level smartphone and therefore the device is made of a Plastic body and frame. Also, there is no IP rating or any glass protection, so the build quality is not that great. There is a Diamond-cut pattern on the rear, which means the device will not attract fingerprint smudges. On the front, the device features the same old school design with a dew-drop notch and prominent bezels.

As for the ports and buttons, there is a power button along with the volume rocker on the right edge, while the left edge features the SIM Tray. The bottom side consists of a headphone jack along with the USB 2.0 charging port and the speaker grille. The rear-mounted fingerprint sensor completes the overall design of the Tecno Pop 5.

Tecno Pop 5 Display

The display is a major highlight of this device according to the hoardings. There is a large 6.1-inch Dot Display on the front and the display comes with a 90% screen to body ratio for providing a large viewing area and the Tecno Pop 5 supports 480 nits of peak brightness. The display supports a normal refresh rate and at this price point, you cannot expect more than that.

Tecno Pop 5 Performance

On paper, the Spreadtrum SC7731E chipset powers the Pop 5’s 1.3GHz quad-core CPU. The RAM and internal storages are 1GB and 16GB respectively. One thing you may note here is that you won’t be able to use multiple apps simultaneously here since the RAM is low and also the storage is very less.  On the software front, the device runs on the HiOS based on the Android 10 Go Edition.

Tecno Pop 5 Camera

On the Pop 5, there is a 5MP primary camera, as well as an LED flash, and a 0.3MP secondary camera. The front of the phone sports a 5MP front-facing camera for taking selfies and making video calls. You can take better images in low-light situations because of the LED flash on the Pop 5 camera. The camera has a 720p video recorder.

Tecno Pop 5 Battery

There is a 4000 mAh battery, which promises two days of battery backup. However, there is normal charging support and it will take you a while to refill the battery. For connecting the charger, there is a USB 2.0 charging port.
